The live was put on by beat shuffle, so the radio host guy came out first and introduced stuff and yeah. He was funny, but everyone was kinda restless while he was talking XD

aaanyway, first was The Kiddie~ I had only heard them a little bit before, but they sounded good from what I heard. They put on a good performance though~ Very shiny and bouncy, lol. They didn't hit me super hard, but someone tell me if I'm just being dumb and should totally get into them XD

I had never gotten super into them for some reason, but I had a basic idea of the members, lol. That and Jui is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Like, gender doesn't even have anything to do with it, he's just gorgeous XD Soo I was quite happy to see him live. That and his pants were undone practically the entire time |D And damn he has a pretty figure. He's just so freaking pretty D:
Anyway, the MC was funny.
Jui sat down on that stand thing and was like "....well...we were gonna play our new song, but...." and then he said something like while they were rehearsing the data was erased or something and they couldn't do anything about it so they couldn't play it XD The fans were like "Ehhhh!?!?" and he was like (in a really rough, guyish way) "I'm the one who should be saying 'Ehhhh'!! ..........oops, I guess that was kind of out of character, lol" XDD So they didn't play Focus, but it was a cool setlist and their performance was awesome~

I got a roooseee :DDD asagi basically threw a bouquet of them, hehe. and actually i didn't catch it, a few fell on the floor so i stomped around with my foot until i stepped on it and then i picked it up |D it worked, lol. i am now attempting to preserve it, which may or may not work >.>

But this was my third time seeing D and holy crap....they just pwn no matter what. guh. I can't believe Asagi's voice is just as amazing and powerful live as it is recorded. And their outfits are always so freaking sweet XD
And the MC was quite epic.
Since it was Hiroki's birthday on the 20th, Asagi gave him some presents.
Asagi: Soo because it's summer now, you'll probably be going to the beach! With that in mind, here's your present~ *hands hiroki a nicely wrapped little box*

While everyone was still lol'ing, Asagi said that it might be embarrassing wearing that in public, so he gave him a bigger box containing swim trunks from diesel.

yeeeeppp. my dream of getting one of his awesome looking drumsticks has finally come true |D he kind of casually flung it into the air (after kissing it 8D) and it went sort of to the side of me, but I reached up and had both hands on it before i knew what was happening. obviously it's fate (￣∇￣+) then two girls saw me walking off with it and were like "that's soo cool! can we touch it??" XD so i let them touch it and it was really cute, lol~

aanway~ Keiyuu is so tiny. I love him to pieces |D And another hilarious MC~ Keiyuu was saying how they kind of (lol) get along with Ayabie, but that Intetsu didn't reply to a mail Yuura had sent him. Keiyuu asked Yuura what he said in the mail, and Yuura was like, "......I asked him if he used the Amember thing on Ameblo....>.>" Keiyuu said something that basically sums up to "....no wonder, lol" XDD
Then I think Yuura or Yasuno said that they were friends with Giru. Keiyuu was like "....!! Giru??" and acted all suprised before explaining about his bearded dragon named Gilgamesh, or Giru for short. Though only people who know that he has a bearded dragon would get that, cause he called him his "adorable son" XD; I wonder how many super confused non-Kra fans there are right now, lol.

But their performance was soo fun~! artman is one of my favorites, so I was really happy they played it☆ Everyone was bouncy and the members were grinning the whole time and Keiyuu was being a tease and it was cute~ Plus when did Maiccho get so hot? o.O He's still awkward, but now he's kinda hot and it's weird, lol. I loves him though (;＞ω<)/

Ok I hadn't listened to a lot of their music before either, but again I knew more about the members. Or so I thought >.> After seeing Aoi in videos and reading some interviews I thought he was pretty shy and soft-spoken. But omg he was the most ADD thing I've ever seen o.o He was jumping all over the place and yelling and talking really really fast and I wanted to give him a tranquilizer before he injured himself XDD It was cute though, lol.
At one point before a slow song he was like, "Since I'm sure you're tired we're going to do a ballad now. So get comfortable and listen. But if you sit down I'll kill you. You guys on the second floor can't sit down either!"

Then at another part he said that he once used his dad's name when he sent in a letter to a radio show. His dad called him later and was like, "Don't use my name!" XDD Then a while later someone sent in a letter using his name and it turned out to be his dad 8D Kind of amazing, lol.

Member-wise, I think I fell even more in love with Yumehito omg he's the cutest thing. Plus he did Daigo's wish pose before he left the stage and that kind of sealed it for me |D And how did I not know how hot Kenzo is? o.o Damn, lol. He had his hair up and was wearing those thick rimmed glasses and I think he's been hanging out with Aki too much or something cause he's starting to look like him XDD And I got a lot of (probably imagined) eye contact from Takehito :D Then of course Intetsu is just so skinny and pretty and I had tons of fun watching him, lol~ Awesome performance☆

Sooo yeah, it was suuper fun :D And since I caught two things when usually I catch none I think it's a good last live. I just don't want it to be DD:
I'll stop thinking about that now and go to bed, lol. oyasumi☆

Shock Wave No. 3 - Tatsuro+Hitsugi Interview

FINALLY! This one's loooong, lol. But ridiculously epic. At first I was just gonna read it at the store, but I eventually bought it cause it was too hard not to burst out laughing every 10 seconds |'D
And poor Hitsugi, he's such a good boy *cries*

Tatsuro (MUCC) + Hitsugi (Nightmare) Shock Wave No.3 Interview

Tatsuro: So Hitsugi, would you confess to someone first?
Hitsugi: Eh!? C-- confess? Another random question, huh. Well I guess it depends on the time and place, as well as on the person.
T: Do you fall in love at first sight?
H: No, not at first sight.
T: Why? Are your eyes bad?
H: If you don't fall in love at first sight I don't think it's because you have bad eyes (laugh). Then what about Tatsuro-san....
T: So when was your first love?
H: I was asking a question...(laugh). F-- first love? It was during elementary school.
T: What was the girl's name?
H: No! I'm definitely not saying (laugh).
T: What's wrong~ It's a bittersweet memory. What-san?
H: No! And by the way, has the interview started yet?
T: Yeah, it started.

- Eh? Oh, it started (laugh).
(hurries to set up the tape recorder)
T: Yeah, basically (laugh). So? What was her name?
H: I said no! When was your first love then?
T: Mine? Mine was in 6th grade.
H: Ah, that's kind of late huh.
T: Really? But isn't love during kindergarden or elementary school not really love? It's like, (And here Tatsuro starts acting out two roles....) "Hey, hey, do you like anyone?" "Yeah I do" "Tell me, I'll tell you too" "You can't tell anyone else!" "I won't, I won't" "Eh! You like them? Heh~" kind of thing. Share it with someone, then when you get into a fight, (And here Tatsuro once again starts acting two roles....) "I'm gonna tell people who you like!" "I don't care, I like someone else now! Who are you talking about, stupid!" like that. It changed already! Kind of thing.
H: Ahahaha. You just had a good conversation with yourself Tatsuro-san (laugh). But that does happen (laugh).
T: Right? But I don't think that sort of love counts as a first love. Rather, the kind of love where you're always looking at them during class and you can't help thinking about them, I think that kind of love starts at around middle school. So that's when mine was.
H: Ahh, if it's in that way, then I think my first love would have been after I graduated middle school. I had the feeling that I seriously liked them.
T: So, what was her name?
H: I already said no! Will you say?
T: Yeah. I will. For me, Mori-san.
H: Mori-san huh (laugh). For me.........U-- Umi**-san.
T: Eh? What? Unko-san? [unko = poop]
H: ..........I knew you'd say that (laugh). I think I've started to understand you, Tatsuro-san (laugh).
T: Soo then, you met Unko-san after you graduated?
H: No, it's Umi**-san.
T: Ahh, Umi**-san right. Sorry sorry. Unko-san.
H: ...........
T: So, did you see her again at your coming of age ceremony or something?
H: No. I didn't participate in the ceremony, I was already in Tokyo in a band. I was in Tokyo recording~ Around the time I first went drinking with you in Tokyo.
T: When was that?
H: When I was about 20.
T: Well yeah~ You just said it was around your coming of age ceremony!
H: Ah, right (laugh). Because you asked "when" (laugh). Did you go to your ceremony?
T: No. I was in Sendai during a tour. So then, that time we first went drinking together, where was it again?
H: Wasn't it at your house?
T: Ahh, I remember. We did do that~ And who was there again?
H: Phobia's vocalist Kisui-san, D'espairsRay's Hizumi-san, Tatsuro-san, and me.
T: That's right~

- That wasn't your first time meeting each other was it? When did you two meet?
H: The first time I met Tatsuro-san, I was still in Sendai. MUCC was a guest at an event put on by Ruka's previous band. That day we had a live at another place, but our after-parties happened to be at the same place, so we met then. I guess that would be 7 or 8 years ago now? When Tatsuro-san was still wearing gas masks and things. When Tatsuro-san was about 20 I think?
T: Yeah. That's nostalgic. I did use gas masks. That's right, how nostalgic~ At that time I was 20 and Hitsugi was 22.
H: No I wasn't! (laugh) Why am I all of a sudden older? (laugh) I was 17 then.
T: Even though these guys were still in high school they had after-parties at bars.

- MUCC did the same thing. Didn't you meet Miya-san at an after-party at a bar?
T: Yeah (laugh)
H: See, everyone did it (laugh). Then at the after-party I was sitting next to him. Since that time I thought MUCC was really cool, and I had listened to "Antique" then but I had never been to a live. So that was the first time seeing them in real life! I remember being impressed and thinking "Ohh~, it's really them~". I was trying my best to talk to Tatsuro-san sitting beside me, and he was doing his best to talk to me too.

- So you've gotten along since then?
T: No, not really.
H: Hey, hey (laugh)
T: At that time Hitsugi was wearing cat eye contacts, so whenever he blinked the vertical pupil would shake back and forth. I remember that really well (laugh). When I asked what his name was and he said Hitsugi [hitsugi = coffin] I kinda pulled away (laugh). "Hitsugi!? Your name is Hitsugi? What's with that" kinda thing (laugh).
H: See, isn't he mean? It's always like this (laugh). We didn't exchange phone numbers that day, but we did the next time we met. Then afterwards I got my first phone call from him.
T: Did I call you!?
H: Yes! And it was at about 4 in the morning while I was recording, then when I was done I went (laugh).
T: Ah, right. I remember. I was like, "YOU, get over here" (laugh)
H: Yeah (laugh). Going was okay, but since I was surrounded by senpais I didn't know what to say. I thought a common subject would be music, so I asked, "What artists do you look up to?". And what do you think Tatsuro-san said?

- Another random answer? (laugh)
H: Yes (laugh). He said "Nicolas Cage"! Even though I was soo nervous and I had finally thought of a question to ask. I would understand if he had said that as a joke after everyone else had answered, but it was all of a sudden! Since he said something like that first, I couldn't ask anyone else (laugh).
T: What are you talking about, Hitsugi. Nicolas Cage is a great actor. More importantly, why did I have to answer some interview-like question when we were all out drinking? And why is it turning into an interview now too?

- Hey, wait! This is definitely an interview!
H: Seriously (laugh). And I'm starting to wonder who's the writer here! (laugh)
T: (laugh) So Hitsugi...
H: You're changing the question again? (laugh)

- Ok wait a second, is it okay if I explain kind of what the object of this interview is? Since you two are good friends we'd like to hear about your private life some, so please just talk naturally-- Well, you've already started (laugh).
T: Honestly though, this won't turn into a good conversation (laugh). You're definitely going to regret booking these two (laugh). I'll let you know now, I don't think this will ever be a serious conversation (laugh).
H: Though from the start this has been just meaningless chatting, not an interview (laugh). I'm doing my best, so please make an effort too, Tatsuro-san! But I think it's okay to say that this definitely won't turn into a conversation about music, so you should be prepared for that (laugh). You'll need to do the rest (laugh).

- What do you mean, that I need to try hard too?
H: Exactly (laugh).

- Well then we should at least start with our meal. (An employee brings the "Fish of the Day" in a row of baskets)
T: Whoa~ Amazing. They're all dead.
H: Ahahahaha. Of course they are! And that's not what you should be looking at, Tatsuro-san! (laugh). Look at the type of fish it is!
Employee: Our Fish of the Day is stonefish. The spines on it's back are poisonous and dangerous to touch, so please try not to touch them.
T: Hitsugi, touch it. It's got spines on it's back.
H: No way! Didn't they just say not to touch it!
T: Don't be stupid, we're testing to see if they're telling the truth. Touch it.
H: I said no (laugh)
T: Can you make spine sashimi? (Turning to the employee) [a pun. spine = toge, and the first kanji in "sashimi" can also be read "toge", so he basically asked if they could make "toge toge" >.>]
Employee: Ah, no, we're not able to prepare anything like.....that (troubled)
H: Serioulsy, you're so weird Tatsuro-san!

- He is weird (laugh)
H: Wait, listen to this! I've gotten mail from him in the middle of the night before, and since it's late won't you think it's some kind of emergency? But it was just one line saying, "What time is it now?".....
T: Cause I was wondering what time it was. Then I thought "Hitsugi would probably know", so I mailed you.
H: No, but when you open your phone to type that mail the time comes up (laugh). Isn't that weird? No matter how you think about it.

- Ahahaha. Then what did you reply?
H: I just said, "It's 3:20"

- (laugh). Is it because you get lonely, Tatsuro-kun?
T: Um~ I like teasing people.
H: It's always like that. At first I didn't know how to react, but now I'm used to it (laugh).
T: So Hitsugi~ What kind of food do you hate?
H: The subject changed all of a sudden, huh (laugh). Well this also happens all the time (laugh). Food that I hate? I can't eat tomatoes in sandwiches.
T: But just tomatoes are okay? Your limit is tomatoes in sandwiches?
H: Yeah. I hate bread that's in between two pieces of bread.

- You mean tomatoes that are in between two pices of bread, not bread in between two pieces of bread. Tomato.
T: If you ate bread in between bread it would be like eating rice with rice, like rice-don. If you made a sandwich with bread inside it would be like putting rice on top of rice and making don. Wouldn't it. What would you do with that.
H: Ah, aaaahhhh, you could have just let it go!

- Ahh, sorry (laugh). So why do you hate tomatoes in sandwiches?
H: Honestly, it's not the tomato I hate, I hate it when the bread gets soggy with tomato juice.
T: Soo Hitsugi, did you know that there are male and female seaweed?
H: It's really random this time (laugh). I didn't know. How do you tell them apart?
T: The females have boobs.
H: .............................
T: It's true. If you tell people that next time they'll all think, "Wow, Hitsugi-kun is so knowledgeable~" and you'll be totally be popular.
H: That's definitely not true.
T: Well then, do you know what crab miso is?
H: Crab brains? [he's trying to guess the joke, lol]
T: Noo. It's crab yadoben. [lunches you get at japanese inns]
H: Ok, so are you saying you're eating crab yadoben now? (laugh)
T: Yeah I am. It's really good, crab yadoben.
H: Honestly though, I can never win against you when it comes to words, Tatsuro-san (laugh). You said that you don't have any quirks, but that's definitely wrong, isn't it? (laugh)

- That is wrong (laugh)
H: I know! See!
T: What are you saying, there's no one else who's friends with so many band members.
H: That's true, but it's not the same thing as not having any quirks! Since the first time we met I thought, "This person is weird~" (laugh). I had no idea how to interact with you at first (laugh).

- When did you start getting along well?
H: When Nightmare came to Tokyo. I decided to buy a bike and had him come with me to the bike shop, so we started contacting each other a lot after that.
T: So Hitsugi~ Are there any band guys you don't like?
H: Eh? Is it okay if the, "Do you get along well?" question is over? Which one should I answer? (laugh) It's like there are two writers here (laugh). Band guys I don't like? There aren't any for me. I might not be liked by some people though.
T: I guess cause they're jealous, huh~ By the way, what fish is this?
H: Tatsuro-san! You're changing the subject too much!! This fish? (Hitsugi was trying to honestly answer every question he was asked.....laugh) This fish is called "nodoguro".
T: Ahh, "doburoku" huh. [type of sake]
H: Ah, no, it's "nodoguro". That's totally different!

- Ahaha. Has he always been this shameless?
H: Tatsuro-san? Yes (laugh). Shameless, or something like that (laugh). [they're saying "ii kagen"]
T: "ii kagen" isn't a bad thing, though. It's like, "ii, kagen". [literally means "good condition"] So I leave a good impression. I've always given a good impression, right. Right, Hitsugi.
H: Ah, umm, yes (laugh)
T: Japanese is hard~ Doesn't the word "tekitou" have the same nuance? [it can mean "appropriate" or "half-hearted" depending] "Tekitou" is used in a bad way, but it originally means that something fits just right. Doesn't it.

- Well yes, there are a lot of words that change meanings as time goes by depending on how they're used.
H: Ah, did it finally turn into a real conversation? (laugh)

- It did (laugh)
H: But to answer that, "Has he always been shameless?" question, Tatsuro-san isn't "ii kagen" or "tekitou" in a bad way. He just teases people a lot (laugh). Tatsuro-san will bring up the idea for everyone to go drinking together, and if out of 10 people he's the one who talks the most. He teases people relentlessly, but he's looking at the whole situation more than anyone and he's the most careful of people's feelings. Though he'll say he isn't.

- Yeah, I understand that. He doesn't show that he's paying attention to other peoples' feelings, but I think he really does deep down.
H: He does, he does. A while ago, I went to karaoke with Tatsuro-san and Aki from SID. Tatsuro-san played the tambourine and got the mood going for everyone's songs. Looking at that I thought what a cute person he is (laugh). Even though he's older than me.
T: It's because I'm a tambourinist.
H: Yeah, see, the way he dodges the compliment also makes me think that he's a nice person.

- But it's because you usually feel that way that you're able to understand how Tatsuro-kun thinks about other peoples' feelings. With you two there's one who teases and one who's teased, but I think we're able to see your individual styles and how you consider other people more in this situation than in an interview with your respective bands. So I see how you'd get along.
H: But Tatsuro-san really does have a lot of friends. I think he's just liked by everyone.
T: I don't have a lot of friends. I do have a lot of aquaintences, though.

- So how do you differenciate between friends and aquaintences?
T: I wonder~ I don't think I could call someone my friend if we've just gone drinking a once or twice. If I felt like I could spend an entire day with them maybe that would be a friend. Spending an entire day with Hitsugi would still be awkward though (laugh). So we're still aquaintences (laugh)
H: Really!? That's so sad!
T: I'm kidding, I'm kidding (laugh)
H: Oh good (laugh)

- Is there anyone who you're both friends with?
T: That we're both friends with~ There are people who we go drinking with when we're together, but I wonder. Is there anyone we meet up with when we're not together? Maybe just Aki or Daisuke (the studs)?
H: I guess so.
T: Basically the people I get along with aren't super good people. It's all guys with a lot of quirks or just idiots (laugh). My friend in my hometown is like that too. I went back recently and went drinking with him, and while he used to be in a gang, now he's working hard being a firefighter. And even though he said he could come early cause that was his day off, he contacted me saying he'd be late. When I asked him what he was doing he said he was doing money collecting at his side job (laugh). I was like, that is pretty bad (laugh).
H: That's doing too much (laugh)
T: Right? It definitely suprised me too (laugh)

- But with both of you being shy and secretly paying attention to other peoples' feelings, aren't you able to have conversations with a lot of different people? So are there no people you don't get along with?
T: No, there are people I don't get along with. I usually can't get along with people who try to act cool.
H: Me too, I'm not good with people who are too cool or that can't open up.
T: Because this is the way I am. I really don't get along with people who are nice to everyone. I feel like I can't trust them. But I feel like the people I know are all super nice to the people who are important to them. Don't you get that feeling, though? Aren't there people who say pretty harsh things or have a bad mouth, but they're actually really good people?

- There are. And I definitely understand how those people would be easier to trust.
T: That's true. I also don't think it's necessary to be a good person to everyone. I like people who might have a lot of quirks and are hard to approach, but they're actually good people on the inside.

- As an example, someone like Yoshinori-kun (Sugimoto Yoshinori) (laugh). You said you wanted to meet him a while ago right, Tatsuro-kun.
T: Yeah. Yes, yes, that's right. Yoshinori-kun says just what he's thinking, has tons of quirks and a bad mouth, but he's always thought that people with bad mouths are never bad people.
H: I totally understand that. Yoshinori-san also tends to jump right into things (laugh)
T: He does (laugh) But, I think that really different things only come from really different people. I think normal people can only produce normal things.

- Ah, the first time you've said something good all day.
H: "The first time" (laugh) So you were worried about this interview, huh. It's true though, you would worry about it at this rate (laugh)
T: Why?
H: Don't ask "why" (laugh) And anyway, you're really out there too, Tatsuro-san~ But you usually don't get angry, do you? Have you ever gotten angry?
T: Me? I really don't get angry often. I wonder when I would? Ah, but there were two times in the past when I got angry during lives.
H: Really!? When, when?
T: A loong time ago. At the beginning of the live there were guests who were playing around and laughing, and causing trouble for the people around them. I was ignoring them, but they never stopped, so when I couldn't take it anymore I said, "It's really annoying when people are messing around when you're trying to seriously do something, so please stop". I also got kind of mad when people were surrounding me and wouldn't let go.

- Because a live isn't something made just by the ones performing, huh. I think the power of the guests is also really strong. It's ok if you can just ignore it, but I feel bad for the people around them.
T: But, I did feel like I was a little immature afterwards.

- Yeah, well. That would be annoying, so I think it's good you said something. Because the guests really are important at lives. When the guests are having fun jumping around, or when they're touched it can move you to tears looking at them, and seeing the stage from behind all of the guests is really beautiful. Even when everyone's headbanging and running into each other they don't really care, or rather it's funner that way, but during a quieter song if you can hear people talking the whole time it would make you mad.
H: Ah, I understand. It is bad when fans come to have fun and it's ruined by a few people with bad manners. I'm sure the people in that area where able to have fun after that because you said something, Tatsuro-san. It is true that when you get mad it can make things awkward after, but there are some times you just have to say something.
T: True. But I think that's the only time I've gotten mad during a live. I usually don't snap and lose control. What about you? What happens when you snap? Do your piercings go BWAHH, GWAA!! and jump out or something?
H: That wouldn't even be human! (laugh)
T: So what happens? Do you turn into Shrek?
H: Of course not! (laugh)
T: You don't! That's suprising!
H: What's suprising! Wouldn't it be more suprising if I did turn into Shrek!
T: I guess~ So? What happens when you get mad?
H: When I get mad, um~ I guess I explain why I'm mad first. But I don't think I snap either. And I haven't gotten angry recently. Even when I get into a bad mood because of technical trouble or something it doesn't go that far.

- What do you do when you get mad, Tatsuro-kun?
T: Me? I stop talking. Or I say, "I'm leaving" and leave. Or else it'll turn into a fight. That's enough. Do whatever you want, kind of thing. Even in elementary and middle school there were a lot of times I just left by myself~ Maybe that's when I stopped getting angry so much.
H: I see~ I usually don't get angry much either. Ah, Tatsuro-san, here's the stonefish!
(The stonefish sashimi was brought out)
T: Oh, here it is, the blowfish.
H: No! It's not blowfish, it's stonefish!
T: Ahh, really?
H: The waiter just said it's stonefish! And you were the one who ordered it! Jeez (laugh)

- When you go drinking or talk on the phone together, what do you usually talk about?
T: Small talk. The stock market and stuff.

- That's definitely not true.
T: Or how the yen is doing.

- That's definitely not true.
H: It really isn't true (laugh)

- Who usually does the inviting?
T: Whenever I invite this guy somewhere he turns me down. Like, "No, I can't do that day", or "Ah, I can't", or "There's no way I can go" or something. He's so hard to be friends with.
H: Hey, hey, you're making me seem like such a rude person!
T: Hitsugi is rude. "No, that'll be tough", "Of course I won't be able to come".
H: I didn't say that! I never said anything like that! (laugh)

- Ahahaha. You're really getting picked on today, Hitsugi (laugh). I've never seen you like this, it's just so cute I can't help it (laugh)
T: But we've still never hung out together just the two of us.
H: All we've done is go eat ramen together.
T: But I did plan something a while ago. At the end of June I had time off, so I thought we could go touring together somewhere far, then when I called him and asked if he could get two days off he was like, "I can't do it", "That won't work", "I don't want to~".
H: I didn't. I didn't say that! I wanted to go, but I couldn't get two days off in a row. Didn't we talk about it a lot?

- Huh? Hitsugi, didn't you say that everyone other than the rhythm team were free at the end of the month?
H: Heh!? What is this. What's with that?? I never said that! Wait a second, really, why are you making things up (laugh).
T: See, there we go. I knew it. You were free. But you turned me down.
H: We really did talk a lot about it, that wasn't true! Wait, why are you making things up (laugh)! Stop it, if you keep saying things like that Tatsuro-san will just keep attacking me (laugh).

- Sorry, sorry. I was going along with it and wanted to pick on you too (laugh). So did you want to go tour somewhere and stay there for two days?
T: Yeah. I said I wanted to go to a nearby onsen or something. Right. But since Hitsugi said no I couldn't go. I also said if two days was too hard that we could just go to Nagoya, but that didn't work either.

- And why Nagoya? (laugh)
T: the studs were having a live in Nagoya, so I asked if he wanted to go see it together. But then Hitsugi was like, "I can't do something like that", "It won't work", and turned me down. It's Hitsugi's fault.
H: I told you! (laugh) I never said that! (laugh) Didn't I say I wanted to go! I'm telling you, it wouldn't have worked (laugh).
T: It's because Hitsugi hates me.
H: I don't hate you! I really like you, Tatsuro-san! Don't I?

- Yeah. Hitsugi really does like you, Tatsuro-kun. A while ago at the end of an interview he said, "I wonder how Tatsuro-san is doing~ Are you going to meet with him? Tell him I want to see him".
T: People say things like that though. But when I actually talk with him he's like, "No, that's difficult", "I can't".
H: I don't say that (laugh)! The last time you invited me it was during recording or a tour, really! And besides, you were drunk! I called and asked what you were doing and you said, "Hah? Why would I have to tell you that!" (laugh)
T: Well it's true.
H: Seriously, he's so mean (laugh). I really wanted to go the Weekly Lives (lives that MUCC did once a week for their 10th anniversary, playing songs from their first album to the latest) you did a while ago! Didn't I say I wanted to go.

- You did. I invited you to one of the lives, but you couldn't go because of recording or something.
H: Right, right, right. I said, "Did you go? Was the the first song on the first day ("Antique" and "Aishuu" day) "Aka" like I thought?" and had her show me the setlist (laugh). I was impressed that the first song really was "Aka". Then we had a conversation like, "Ahh, they played that song!". "Ahh, I wanted to go!". I do think that MUCC is a really cool band. I've liked them for a long time.

- Then is it okay if we start talking about music for a while? (laugh). Didn't you say that you've been interested in writing lyrics lately, Hitsugi?
H: Yeah I did. I'm really interested.
T: You are? Are you gonna write some today too?
H: Eh!? Today? I, I don't think I will today, but (laugh). Why today? (laugh) I really don't understand your questions (laugh).

- Ahahaha. Hitsugi did say that he's liked MUCC ever since he was in Sendai, but I'm sure that also means the lyrics were part of the reason you got pulled into their music?
H: Yeah. For me, out of Tatsuro-san's lyrics the song I like the most is "Na mo naki yume". I really really like that song, and I have it in my iPod.
T: Is that so. Are there any lyrics of yours that have been put into songs?
H: Yeah. There are three songs. They're in our album.
T: What made you want to start writing lyrics?
H: Because I had made the song, so I decided to try writing lyrics for it too.
T: Was it fun?
H: Well, I'm not sure about fun, but it was kind of embarrassing at first.
T: What did you write about?
H: The first song had a "goodbye" theme, and the second one was more like "let's look ahead and walk forward". The third had a "nothingness" feeling.

- What were the first lyrics you wrote, Tatsuro-kun?
T: With MUCC?

- Did you write lyrics before you were in MUCC!?
T: U~m, maybe they weren't really lyrics, but the first time I wrote lyrics that actually got put into a song was with MUCC. The first lyrics I wrote were for "Kyousoukyoku"
H: Heh~ What was the theme for it?
T: There wasn't really a theme. I just wrote them while thinking about the girl I liked at the time.

- Was it embarrassing because it was your first work?
T: No, it wasn't embarrassing. I only felt satisfaction.
H: I see~
T: Does everyone in Nightmare write lyrics?
H: I don't think Ni~ya hasn't written any yet.
T: I see. So then Hitsugi, introduce the other members of Nightmare. I still haven't really talked with Sakipon (Sakito) or Rupon (Ruka), so I don't know what kind of people they are. Does Sakito-kun tell dirty jokes?
H: Sakito won't say them himself, but he laughs when Yomi says stupid things or something (laugh)
T: So then, if I told Sakito-kun to say "d*ck", would he say it?
H: Ahahaha. I think he would (laugh)

- So then what would you do after getting him to say it......?
T: I'd just be happy with that (laugh) The, "Ahh thank God, he's a human like me" kind of relief? (laugh) I wouldn't wish for much more from him after that. What about Rupon (Ruka) and Nipon (Ni~ya)?
H: Those two love that kind of thing. Especially Ruka-san, he'll say them when we're all together. He loves it (laugh)
T: Really! I feel like if you're with guys and you can't talk about stuff like that it's hard to forgive. For me it's like, if you're a guy who doesn't like dirty jokes, then I don't like you! kinda thing.
H: Ahahaha. It's true that that's how guys get to know each other (laugh)

- Ah! By the way, Tatsuro-san.....Didn't you give Yomi a really unnecessary suggestion once.....
T: What? I did? Did I say something?

- To Yomi who was trying his best to diet.
H: Ahahaha. You did you did! You did say something, Tatsuro-san (laugh)
T: What did I say?

- "You know, if you can't lose weight then just say, 'I really did lose weight before the photoshoot, but then I rebounded!', then it's ok if you get fatter! Just do that! It's totally the best way!" You said that!
T: Ah, I did (laugh) But it's true. When you're involved with magazines and you say you're going to lose 8 kilos, but then you say, "Actually I only lost two~", it's really half-hearted and uninteresting. But if you just go, "I rebounded~ (laugh)", isn't it way more interesting for a magazine?
H: No, that kind of thing doesn't work for our band! (laugh)

- It's true it's true (laugh). Yomi is obedient, so he'll stop working at it (laugh)
T: That guy is so hopeless (laugh)
H: He's really an idiot, he's too easily influenced (laugh). But that's why you can't hate him.
T: Then what's wrong with him rebounding.
H: That's not good! He's trying his best right now!
T: How long has he been doing it?

- It's been about a month since he started.
H: Was he going to continue for another month?
T: That's it, since he started his diet plan last month.

T: Cause there aren't any other vocalists who say those kind of things in magazines (laugh)
H: True (laugh). But he's really working hard isn't he?

- Yeah. He said that he works out his back and stomach everyday, and finds time to go to the gym.
H: See, so stop giving him those suggestions (laugh)
T: But really, if you're not dieting while working out and getting in shape, doing a live at Budokan will be tough. So you have to be careful of that.
H: That's true. If you're not in shape lives are hard. Somehow.
T: So that's why if you think about the magazine and say, "Actually I got fatter (laugh)" it'd be funnier. Yep.
H: I wonder? (laugh)

- You're so irresponsible (laugh)
T: Hey, hey, by the way, if you had time to kill in Shibuya for some reason, what would you do?
H: Heh!? Where did that come from? What does that have to do with what we were saying??
T: It doesn't have anything to do with it. I just wanted to ask. For me, a while ago I somehow had free time in Shibuya and I had already eaten, didn't feel like going to a manga cafe and didn't feel like shopping, so I seriously started wondering if there were any good places to go at a time like that.
H: So did you think of anything?
T: I did! I thought of a good place!
H: Where!?
T: "Pet Cabaret"!
H: What the heck is that? (laugh)
T: It's what I said. A Pet Cabaret. There'd be tons of pets, and you can pick one. You'd have a private room where you could play with them for however long. Isn't that cool? Would you go if there was one?
H: I would! I would!
T: Right!

- Eh, but isn't that kind of sad?
T: What is?

- Because wouldn't you start getting attached to each other? Even so it's definitely not your pet. Isn't that sad?
T: Yeah, it is kind of sad. You think you can see them again but there's too many reservations and you can't. Aren't I good? I told you I seriously thought about it. If you have a bunch of cats and dogs it'll start to stink if you don't clean often, and they make noise so if you can't soundproof the place it'll be bad, and if it's too small it'll get crowded, and there's no point if it's not your own place so you'd need a lot of space, so at what price per hour would people come? Kinda thing.
H: You thought about it that realistically, huh (laugh)
T: Yeah. But when I kept thinking about it I calmed down at the thought that it's pretty unrealistic (laugh). But if there was one I'd definitely go.

- You like animals then?
T: I do, I do.

- Both of you have pets, right?
H: Yeah. I have a dog.
T: Ahh, that dog that isn't very cute. Pesu, huh.
H: Hey! He is cute, you're wrong! (laugh)
T: Ah, Pesu was the name of the dog I had when I was a kid. Shikabane [corpse], right. Shikabane. Ah, or was it mukuro. [also means corpse]
H: It's Cocoa! Cocoa! Jeez, a while ago when we had a live in Omiya with MUCC, Cocoa was in the dressing room and all of a sudden Tatsuro-san said, "What's it's name? It's with Hitsugi so it's shikabane, right?" (laugh) Really, he's so mean! Even though they played together (laugh)
T: What's with Cocoa! Why Cocoa! Cause it's cocoa-colored? Lame.
H: I didn't say anything! But it's frustrating because that is actually why (laugh)
T: Why didn't you let me name it!

T: What are you saying! I have really awesome naming sense! My friend has a white rabbit and I named it "daifuku".

T: And I named the cat that Yukke's family has. It was kind of milk-tea colored. So I said Chai would be good, and it became Chai.

- Why Teto?
T: Cause I love "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind".

- That's right. You like Hayao Miyazaki don't you.
T: Yeah, I do.
H: Which one do you like the most?
T: "Nausicaa", "Laputa Castle in the Sky", or "Princess Mononoke". Have you ever read the original "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind"? The movie ends at about the second volume, so you should definitely read it. You'll understand it a lot more deeply.
H: Is the original work that little book?
T: It's not little. Is it just cause you're big?
H: Hey (laugh). Huh? Am I wrong, the one I have is small! Huh? Are the titles different?
T: They're not different, it's just "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind". That's definitely a different book, are you sure it isn't "My Neighbors the Yamadas"?

- So as for something you have in common, you both like movies, right?
T: Do you like movies Hitsugi?

H: The one I saw most recently was "The Departed".
T: I was wondering about that one, but I haven't seen it. Was it good? Isn't it a re-make of a Hong Kong movie? (A remake of the Hong Kong movie "Infernal Affair")
H: Yeah. According to the people who saw the original it seems like that one was better. I haven't seen that version though. What about you?
T: This was last year, but out of the movies I've seen recently the one I liked the most was "Tekkon Kinkreet". Did you see it?
H: I did I did.
T: "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" was awesome too. Did you see it?
H: I did. Huh? Was that the third one?
T: No, the second.
H: Huh? Haven't they made a third one already?
T: Yeah, "The Prisoner of Azkaban".
H: What? Isn't that a different series? I think that's Potter (laugh). I still haven't seen "The World's End".

H: Do you watch movies at the theater?

T: Why! The impact is so different~ Well, if it's a drama-like movie it's fine to watch it at home, but something like "Dead Man's Chest" should be at a theater. Also "Transformers" I would want to watch in a theater. I guess "Zodiac" would be fine watching on DVD.
H: Was "Zodiac" good?
T: Yeah, it was. "300" wasn't though.
H: Heh~ Did you see "Lucky Number 7"?
T: I haven't. Have you?
H: I like Bruce Willis, so I thought it was good.
T: Ah, I also saw "Die Hard", and a while ago I rented Steven Seagal's "Under Siege" series. I had watched it once about 3 years ago and didn't think it was good at all, but since there was a new one out I decided to check out if it was any good, so I watched "Dark Territory", but as I thought I really didn't like it (laugh). It's like, I didn't get the point. Also, I haven't watched it but I rented it recently, a Korean movie called "Old Boy". Apparently it's good. Ah, I remembered another Korean movie! Right now, Macchan (Matsumoto Hitoshi) writes a column called "Cinema Bouzu", right? In that, he wrote about the Korean movie "The Eraser in my Head" [English title is "A Moment to Remember"], and there was one part that was soo funny. It's a story of a wife that has Alzheimer's, and he wrote, "It was dangerous that the wife had Alzheimer's, so they changed their gas stove to an electric one, but a few days later it was a gas stove again. I wonder if the director and staff just didn't notice? Did the director and staff all have erasers in their heads?". I thought that was pretty strange (laugh).

- That's amazing! How clever! I watched it but I never noticed that.
H: It's true! But even if the connection is kind of weird it'll interfere with the story, so I don't notice the little things (laugh).
T: Right, right, right. For me, I really like reading the reviews that regular people leave about movies on Yahoo! movies. Have you ever seen "The Shawshank Redemption"?
H: Yeah. That was a good movie.
T: Yeah. I liked it too, so I started wondering what other people thought of it and checked it out. And then, just one person had given it one star and a negative review. I wanted to know why, so I read it and it said, "The last scene when he was breaking out of jail. It's fine that he broke out by gouging a hole in the wall with a spoon (it was actually a rock hammer), but after he broke out, the poster that was perfectly put up to cover the hole he made in the wall is what I can't understand. I just kept thinking, 'Who put those thumb tacks in the wall?' and I couldn't concentrate on the rest of the movie.".
H: That's true! I didn't notice!
T: I know! Me neither (laugh). I read that and thought, "That's true!" (laugh). It's really interesting that everyone has such different points of view and are looking at tons of different things (laugh).

- Even if it's the same movie, it's interesting that touching moments or ones that make you cry are different depending on the person.
H: Yes, yes. Plus, when you watch it your mental condition can change, too.
T: Right. Have you watched "Nausicaa" since you've been over 20? When I watched it when I was over 20 I just burst into tears.
H: At what scene?
T: When Nausicaa was thrown into the air by the group of Ohmu. I cried then. I cried a lot. I thought, "She's so helpless", "She's so small". It was too sad, it made me cry.
H: I didn't cry during "Nausicaa". Did you?

- I liked "Nausicaa" and I have the DVD, but I haven't watched it again recently. The last time I watched it was a pretty long time ago so I don't remember the details.
T: What did you watch that made you cry? "My Neighbors the Yamadas"?

- Of course not! Out of Miyazaki Hayao's films, even though it's not very recent, the most recent one was "Spirited Away" that I remember really making me cry.
T: What part?

- When Haku gave Sen the onigiri.
T: Ahh, when her mom and dad got turned into pigs.
H: No, that was a totally different part. It's seriously suprising how shameless you are, Tatsuro-san (laugh). [ii kagen]
T: I already told you, "ii kagen" means good condition.
H: Ahh, ok ok (laugh). For me, it's not Miyazaki Hayao, but I cried during the movie "Bicentennial Man" with Robin Williams. At the end, I was crying so hard.
T: Ahh, the one with the robot, huh. I cried during "Big Fish". That one's good. It's so good it makes me think if it's not Tim Burton's will or something.
H: I have the DVD of "Big Fish". But you really do love movies don't you, Tatsuro-san.

- By the way, how do you find time to watch movies when you're both so busy?
T: I'll watch the DVDs while I'm on tour or something, or on the plane when we're going overseas.
H: I'm the type to just buy the DVDs.

- I see. Then let's talk some about your bands (laugh). Do you have any advice to Hitsugi as the senpai in a band that's just had it's 10th anniversary, Tatsuro-san?
T: Let's see~ How many years has Nightmare been together now?
H: It'll be 8 years this year. We formed in 2000.
T: 8 years, huh~ That's a long time.
H: But in two years we'll be the same age as Tatsuro-san and will be having our 10th anniversary, so the times we formed our bands is about the same.

- That's true, you both started around high school didn't you. Besides Ruka, MUCC and Nightmare both have their roots as high school friends. Did any kind of change happen to MUCC during your 8th year together?
T: MUCC's 8th year? 8 years would mean that was 2 years ago? So what time period was that?

- It was the year you released "Houyoku".
T: And it was the first year we went overseas. The first time we went was before "Houyoku", wasn't it.
H: It was that recent? When you first went overseas?
T: Yeah. We were slow. Because we totally weren't interested in going at first. Actually, we didn't want to go. But I'm really glad we did now.

- Nightmare hasn't gone overseas once yet, have they. So that's the same.
T: Eh? Really? You still haven't gone overseas? Why not?
H: There isn't any deep meaning as to why. It's not like we haven't gotten offers, and we're not just refusing to go, it's just that right now we feel like we want what we're doing in our home ground of Japan to be firmly grounded. We think now is the time to build a good foundation. There's also the reason that Ruka-san really hates airplanes (laugh).
T: Ahh, for us Yukke also hates airplanes (laugh). But it's not good to dislike something you haven't tried. Really, you shouldn't. After I went and actually had the experience I can say that for sure.
H: When I saw MUCC's "Flight" PV (Using footage of an overseas live) it was the first time I thought I wanted to have a live overseas. It looked great. I thought I wanted to see that kind of scene from the stage, too.

- You said it. Before now you never said you wanted to have a live overseas.
H: Yeah. I felt like it's fine if we do it sometime later, and I couldn't image what us playing overseas would be like.
T: I understand. I was like that too. But you know, if you go you'll change. I think the way you play at lives, and even the way you think of lives themselves will change. Because it influences your performance. The way the rhythm goes and how people get into it is completely different from Japan, so it really gives you motivation. Of course Japan has it's own good points. But if you go over there you'll get a totally new way of getting into it. Like, "Wow, so this song can also have this sort of feel to it", and even though it's your own song it's like a new discovery. Almost like you're getting to see it in it's original form or something.
H: Is that so~ I want try going.
T: If you can get permission then you definitely should. We also didn't want to follow the recent trend by going, so we hesitated, but it wasn't something we should have worried about.
H: So there wasn't a problem with the language barrier at all?
T: You don't notice. It makes you think how amazing music is.
H: We'll also work hard so we can celebrate our 10th anniversary.
T: Right, so next time we'll go touring.
H: Please invite me! I don't need prank mails or phone calls (laugh). But is this okay? Will you be able to write this down? Is it okay?

Omg where to start.

Since there were two days I guess I'll just sum them up as best I can~

First night:

They stopped the rain again |3 It was raining that day, but I wasn't worried cause it apparently always stops before a mucc concert. Sure enough, it stopped right around when they were letting people in, fufu

I couldn't find the setlist for this one, but it was basically the same as the other ones during the tour.

Soo violent |D I'm used to it now, but it was really hard for me to comprehend the fact that there are actually crowd surfers in japan o.O go mucc, lol.

Anyway~ All of the songs were amazing, and they have really cool backgrounds and stuff during a lot of the them. During Ageha there's a huge projection of a butterfly on the back wall, and in the middle of Sanbika it's a huge projection of Christian paintings that makes the stage look like a church or something and it's really beautiful ;w; My friend said he even got teary watching that.

And during Kagerou Tatsu was practically having sex with the microphone stand and it was bad >.> I usually don't think of him as sexy or anything, but....shit he's flexible >//<

As for the more epic parts:

It might have been after Lemming, but Tatsu started messing with his eye, then he held something out on his finger and was like, "My contact fell out...."

Tatsu: Yeah it's ok, but...it fell out....now i can only see out of one eye, lol. *finds a staff member* Um! My contact fell out! Get me something to put it in!

So he talked for a little while holding his contact and waiting for the staff dude, then some fan randomly called out, "I'll put it in for you~!". He was like, "I'll put it in for you? What's that supposed to mean? lol".
The staff dude got him a towel to put it on, and for the rest of the show he would sometimes close one eye so he could see better. But it looked like he was winking cause he's always smiling and it was really cute XD He said that even though he couldn't see us very well it was ok cause he could tell we were having fun and going crazy and stuff, lol.

Another epic part:

Towards the end, Tatsu asked everyone if they were ready to sing along~ So obviously everyone assumed that meant Yasashii Uta, and it got calmer while people were finding comfortable positions to stand in. They started playing Yasashii Uta for about two seconds, then Tatsu looked up, smirked, and they completely switched to Suimin 8DD The fans were like WTFF and there was much chaos once they realized what was going on XD

Then I got all ;w; again during Ryuusei. That songs gets me ><

Other than that it was basically the same as the night before, but I'm so glad I went to both <3

Lastly, mucc fans are soo cool! At one point a huge group of people just fell over on top of each other (including me), but it seemed like for all the people that fell over, there were just as many people helping them up and making sure they were okay. and when I finally got back up and got my bearings again, I looked at the stage and Tatsu was looking at us going "daijoubu? ok? *thumbs up sign*" and everyone was like YEAAHHH 8D and he was like OK! :DD *keeps singing*
it made me go awwww~ so yeah, very violent, but everyone takes care of each other and it's awesome.

It was another day of awesome weather |3

So let's see~ I had a pretty good ticket, so I was pretty close to the front on the left side again. I like that side XD

The epicness started even before the show did, hehe. A guy's voice came on telling people to not bring in cameras, etc., and then he said

It was amazing |D I bet he just came by to watch the show and they randomly decided to do that for lulz XD

The opening band was Awoi, who I had never listened to aside from looking them up on youtube the day before XD; They were quite good though, very visual kei ^^ The vocalist was making a lot of strange facial expressions that kiiind of bothered me, but he has a great voice. I enjoyed them~

I'm honestly not a heidi expert (so some of those romanizations might be wrong, lol), but I had heard some of their songs before and I like their sound. They put on a really good show :D Yoshihiko was grinning like the whole time, which I love XD
So was Kousuke, and I think that guy had it out for me. The freaking tuning pegs on his bass reflected light in this perfect beam that was going straight in my eyes half the time, then he threw his pick and it hit me in the face ┌(_д_┌)┐ I was happy cause I neever catch anything at concerts, but srsly. My ego was a tad bruised so I was thinking of giving it to the girls next to me who were super fans, but I decided to keep it cause this is the first time I've ever gotten anything at a concert XD Plus I always knew this would happen. I remember saying to my friend that if I ever got a pick or something it would totally hit me in the face. sigh |'D
But I really did like their performance, it was a lot of fun~ And the least violent, lol

It is definitely a cute pick XD I like that it's all scratched up too, lol

That being said, they were a lot of fun :D The new songs were really cool, and finally being able to see Meisai live made me amazingly happy 8D Though there was this dark-skinned, blonde-haired, 5-inch nail wearing girl being way to hyper and flinging her hair everywhere and ugh. That kinda ruined it until she pushed herself up front, lol.

But the guys looked awesome and Mao was wearing an eyepatch <3 And he's tiiiny <3
Mizuki is sooo bouncy! lol! He didn't stay still for more than like 2 seconds and kept winking and being flirty with everyone in his line of vision XD Then at one screamy part he gave his guitar to a roadie, grabbed a microphone and started screaming with Mao so it was like there were two vocalists and it was really awesome~
Aki was at the back being the greatest thing since sliced bread for most of the first part, but then he came forward and started looking out at the fans some. Or rather, looking down at them, lol. sry, his attitude cracks me up XD It is really cool that he speaks English though~ And that his picks say "Fugly" on them. That's amazing and I want one |D
But I barely saw any of Tsurugi D: Too many tall people around. sigh. But he was looking skinny like always~ I wish he'd eat a hamburger~
Kei looked hot. Ridiculously hot. Almost like he's been eating :O Lol, he just looked fuller in general and it was amazing and ugh. Plus I think I made eye contact with him for a few seconds :D maybe. I dunno, but I'd like to think I did |D

So yeah, their set was probably one of the most violent, but I had a nice spot near a bar thing so I didn't get caught in it XD; Very fun though~ And very loud~

But yeah, I've been into lynch for a couple of years now, so being able to see these songs live was amaazing ♥ Though I reeally wanted to hear an illusion. Maybe I can make it for one of their tour lives before I go :D
It kinda seemed like the sound quality wasn't that great at some points though. It was very noisy especially towards the end, but it didn't take away from how awesome adore is. That was soo fun~
Funny point during the MC:
Hazuki was trying to talk about what a pleasure it was to be able to participate in the event and stuff, but while he was talking these girls kept yelling "Reo-sama~! Ummm. Wow. This was my first time seeing all of these bands, but I have to say Merry took my expectations and stuffed them down Gara's pants. Cause apparently he likes stuffing things down there |'D
aaanway, Gara is insane. But other than that~ I never thought I would ever get to see Japanese Modernist live. That was the first Merry song I ever heard and it blew my mind seeing it live 8D Everyone was singing along too and it was really fun~ Does anyone know if they usually play it? o.O

Honestly I wasn't too familiar with a lot of the other songs, but watching Gara was the most entertaining thing ever. It's like every time I looked over he was doing something weird. I'd look over and he'd be hitting the mike against his head, then I'd lose sight of him then when I looked again he was on the floor writhing around and when he got up again his pants were all of a sudden unzipped. It was just constant XDD And when I looked again he had his water bottle down his pants. Pointed down and with the cap off |'D He was wearing Playboy underwear btw. So his crotch was soaked and he proceeded to lick his fingers and yeah. I'll stop there XDD;
The other guys looked like they were having a lot of fun too, lol. Again, I was on the bassist side so I didn't see much of Yuu, but his hair looked really cool XD Tetsu is ridiculous. Why is he so hot? Wtf. And Kenichi was a lot more energetic than I expected~ So cute~ And Nero owns. Just. Wow |D Such an amazing drummer ♥♥ At one point he jumped onto the bars surrounding his drumset and was talking for a little (and kinda freaking me out cause what if it broke?? XD;), then during the encore he jumped onto Gara's desk, turned around and caught the signed drumhead that a roadie threw to him (while the fans went ooohhhh *clap*) then threw that to the audience, lol.

Quite a show☆ And absolutely insane~

So yep, altogether a great concert and I was so dead afterwards |D Plus I could barely hear anything. Actually I'm still having trouble. When does the ringing stop?? D:

I was srsly looking forward to this concert cause Despa owns and I had heard a lot of good things about Shinkiba Studio Coast, lol.

Omg it was one of the most amazing concerts I've been to here. Though I feel like I say that a lot XD;
But whoever said that Shinkiba is awesome was totally right. It's sooo spacious and feels really spiffy and new. Plus the floors are wooden which also kind of opens it up. So basically it had the feeling of a large venue cause the ceiling was high and the lighting and stage decorations were super well done, but at the same time the stage is really close and it's all standing so it also feels like a smaller place. Maybe not if you're at the very back though? Not sure, lol.

But I had ticket #460-something and when I got in there was tooons of space 8D So I was about 3 or 4 rows (if you think of it that way) back from the front on Zero's side. Not bad at all in my opinion |D

And of course the guys looked awesome. Don't really remember the outfits, but damn they looked good o.o Though Hizumi was wearing cool black jeans with boots and chains and stuff. plus a floral-looking blouse with only one button done. Which of course came undone about 2 songs in |D And daaaamn he has a nice figure. Wow. I usually don't only concentrate on stuff like that, but. Damn XD;

Sooo interesting things...
At some point a few songs in, Zero bounced over to Karyu's side, put his hat on Karyu's head and started fixing his hair in front XD That was cute~

Song-wise....they were all awesome |D The lighting and stage design was amaazing, plus the sound quality was perfect and i was dying like the entire time, lol.
The songs that stuck out the most to me were SIXty∞NINe cause it was so much freaking fun, plus the Paradox5 and REM set. Sooo pretty (；△；) At the beginning of paradox, it was basically dark but there was smoke coming from behind the drumset plus this pulsing blue light...and together it made a really dream-like atmosphere that fit so well. Then the curtain at the back was pulled to the side, and behind it there was a black curtain with a white crescent moon shape on the right side and yeah |D
Then during REM, Hizumi was lit up by a bunch of different swirling colors and it was sooo pretty☆
Basically the last part of the main set stuck with me the most I think. Ugh. Amazingness D:
And before they played Squall, Hizumi was like, "Because of me it started raining today. Sorry about that." and we were like lolol. Then he said that situation-wise it fit perfectly, then he started singing XD

The encores were kind of amazing 8D I think it was during the first one, but Zero was saying that Shinkiba is close to Tokyo Disneyland, so it's "Shinkibassu! Mickey Mousessu! 8D" (-ssu is a slang form of "desu", lol). And then. They played a metal version of the Mickey Mouse song |'D Indescribably amazing. holy crap XD Hizumi wasn't there at that point, but the other members would sing the "mickey mouse!" parts in the middle and it was hilarious. Especially Tsukasa, he sang it kind of opera-style at the end XDD

Then at the end of the encores, Zero took this huge water gun out of nowhere and started shooting everyone with it 8D I'm pretty sure the people in the very front on his side were soaked, lol. Then he started shooting it upwards so it felt like it was raining or something and it was awesome. Then when he was done he tossed it to some fans XDD

And I was so close to getting Tsukasa's signed drumhead thingy D: I had a firm grip on the side of it, but it was ripped away by crazier people than me >.> That hurt, lol. One day I will catch something at a concert dammit ;w;

But yeah, all in all it was totally awesome ♥♥♥♥♥♥

ugh, i hate being busy D:

but got to go see D and SuG! a while ago! and i forgot to update about them, lol.

first was SuG.

actually the main part of the concert was reeeally fun, and a lot less painful than last time >.> plus the guys did a good job making sure it didn't feel sad at all. especially during the MCs! yuji and chiyu announced the goods you can buy one by one, and while last time yuji announced all of them while doing a (quite good) daigo impression, this time he made yuji say all of them in "real" english 8'D needless to say, it was epic.
"sticker" was particularly entertaining XD they looked at each other for a while and had to work it out, then yuji thought about it for a second and finally attempted something along the lines of "stikkar! :D" and i died. though they gave up on "phone strap" cause they decided it was the same in japanese and english |'D

but yeah. the encore part was really depressing, when they were taking turns talking about mitsuru leaving D:
masato was pretty calm while talking, and said that we should support mi-chan (they called him that the whole time, lol), and that SuG would continue to ganbaru it and stuff....yuji was trying the hardest not to make the situation too sad (;w;) and he was making little jokes and stuff to lighten the mood, but he basically said the same things as far as i can remember....chiyu looked serious and had this sad look on his face and it made me go D: and he talked about how he's known mi-chan the longest out of the members, and that they would definitely still be friends afterwards too. which is sweet~ takeru was the most emotional out of all them, lol. he's such a little kid <3 but he was sitting next to mitsuru while the other members were talking, and when it was his turn to talk he tried a couple of times but got all choked up and eventually just put his head on mitsuru's shoulder and cried a little bit. mitsuru kinda hugged him and god it was really freaking cute (；△；) mi-chan himself was pretty calm for the most part, and kept telling everyone to stop crying (srsly, it was getting loud XD;), don't be sad, support the "new" SuG, etc....yeah i srsly don't remember the specifics, lol. then he stopped cause he was afraid he would start crying too ;w;

they played love scream party for the second time as the last song, and to make it happy, balloons came out of nowhere! i don't know how they did it, but all of a sudden there were like 50 balloons in my face XD so it was actually reeeally fun bouncing them everywhere and jumping around to love scream party~

also "vamp vamp vamp" was really cool live o.O hadn't really expected that one, lol. plus "umbilical" and "primal" were soo pretty. listening to those songs live is a lot different than the cd versions. though for some reason takeru said that they might not play "primal" anymore :O i don't get exactly why apart from mitsuru leaving, but it made me sad cause that's such a nice song.

after that song was when it god super emotional though. like 90% of the audience was crying, takeru was huddled somewhere, mitsuru was looking out at the audience, and the other members were kind of standing and looking down.... eventually takeru asked everyone to wait for them no matter how long it takes to come back, and afterwards asked for the lights to be turned up so mitsuru could see everyone's faces clearly. which would have been really nice if people had put their damn balloons down >.> so i didn't get a very clear view of him until right before he stepped down, but his eyes looked really deep and pretty ;w; the type of thing i notice, lol. takeru's eyes sparkle btw. you can see them glittering from the back row, he's like a little fairy or something XD

i wasn't getting super choked up, but the last time mitsuru talked, he said "these past two years have been so much fun" and basically burst into tears ;A; that hit me, cause he had been trying so hard to keep calm >< i think everyone in there wanted to hug him to death at that point, lol.

god i'm gonna miss him D: listening to their old songs live made me all nostalgic (or as nostalgic as two years ago gets, lol) and it made me so sad that this was the last time they would all be together....i hate stuff like this ;w;

my balloon |D don't ask what i'm gonna do with it, lol. for right now it's just sitting in my room XD

i haad to go to this one cause it's at club citta in kawasaki, where me and a few of the other international students were extras in a movie 8D so for about 12 hours we basically lived at that livehouse and jumped and screamed to a ridiculous KISS-esque band of british dudes XD my friend and i swore that we would come back to see a "real band", but she went back home before anyone good played |'D so it's just me~ i can't believe mucc is the real band i get to see there though XD lucky~

lol, i checked mao's blog tonight and he had a picture of this ramen:

that a fan had sent to him. i've eaten at that chain before and it's some of the best ramen ever (i think there's a picture of it in my food post XD) but i was really suprised that there was an instant version of it. so i booked it over to 7-11 and bought one and yeah. SO good (￣∇￣+)

anyway, i went to girugamesh yesterday~! their shibuya-ax tour final~

god but giru is so cool o(TωT )

they basically only played the newer songs from music, then some from the girugamesh album and the reason of crying mini-album. i would have liked to hear some older songs, but since i love almost every song by them i don't think i'd ever be satisfied XD

i was reeeally looking forward to this not only to hear the music, but also cause the guys are so amazingly funny and retarded and i love it 8D

though satoshi's hair was all curly and fluffed up, so sometimes when the lights were shining from a certain angle you couldn't really see his face and it looked like this big fluffy ball with a microphone XDD oh i love him♥

holy crap and i looove shuu! he's so funny! and there was a really funny part during the mc, lol

ahh it was funny. plus i really enjoyed how shuu and nii would face each other and kind of hop/dance forward then backward while playing XD and when they were on opposite ends of the stage they would stare at each other for a second, then all of a sudden shoot forward and run to the other side of the stage 8D they must have some kind of signal, lol.
ryo was grinning the entire time XDD he also didn't seem to want to sit down. if it was at all possible, he was standing up and grinning at everyone while drumming :D sooo cute♥

at the end they announced that they would start going in a new direction or something o.O i forget, but something about a "renewal" kind of thing.
then when i went to check their blog today, i found out that they now have an ameba blog (yeessss). and the header is amazing. oh god chibi giru 8D

almost as cool as MUCC's updated blog. so much epic |D

and they're gonna release three new singles in june! :O PLUS the shibuya-ax concert is gonna be on dvd! :D that's the 2nd or 3rd concert i've gone to that's definitely gonna be on dvd. oh how fun (￣∀￣)

WHY can japanese people not walk straight?? i thought it was just me being a stupid gaijin at first, but no. in singapore, i can get into the flow of things and just go with the crowd and not run into people and still get where i need to go with careful manuvering.
but there IS no flow here! i don't think half the people in these crowds know where they're going. even if there isn't a crowd i can't get anywhere. there'll be like two people walking towards me, and i'll be walking in the direction i want to go and we aren't even close to running into each other or anything, but all of a sudden one of them will randomly switch directions and practically run into me! if they had just kept going the same way they were it would have been fine, but nooo. though it seems like i'm not the only one with this problem. if i watch other people walking around they're all running into each other too XD
so yeah. one of the most densely populated places in the world and the people have no crowd walking sense. wat the fuck >.>

so how did that whole asahi tv or whatever thing work? could you just watch it online or on tv? if so then maybe you already know this stuff, but oh well XD;

First off, the weather was perfect again~ clearly god loves jrock (￣∀￣) though i know for a fact that mucc can stop rain, lol. during the taste of chaos tour they stopped it like three times. it was raining when the concerts started, but stopped as soon as they came on XD

and they had such cool goods this time~ though they always design cool stuff. i only had enough for a t-shirt and the towel, but they are both quite awesome |3

i got a good seat this time too :D on the first floor, so it's level with the stage. very fun~

crappy picture of my view~ it was an amazing setup though, they projected pictures and patterns onto that huge white ball and it looked awesome. though it was a lot cooler before tatsu referred to it as an onion ┌(_д_┌)┐

the guys also looked incredible of course :D they were wearing their usual style of loose flowing clothes and no shoes, but tatsu was wearing almost all white o.o that was cool, lol. plus it meant that the light patterns and colors they displayed showed up on him very well XD
and i think miya had red hair o.O or red extension/braid things. it was great |D

it was altogether one of the best concerts i've been to though. not to mention the prettiest o.o budokan has suuuch awesome lighting~
have some Interesting Highlights, lol

- Kyuutai is an awesome album and all of the new songs were so amazing live :D Oz and Houkou were suuper fun☆ and the slower songs, especially hanabi and fuyuu, were sooo beautiful ;A;

- It's interesting that there was a lot more of a western feel to the way the audience was participating. in all of the other concerts i've been to here, the fans do the little furis and "saku"-ing, and it's fun sometimes but sometimes it gets on my nerves like whoa XD; but during this one everyone was mainly just fist-pumping and jumping and generally doing their own thing, which made me feel a lot more comfortable :D mucc fans are so chill~ i love it~

- I must point out that Fukuro no Yurikago might just be my favorite song ever and i almost cried i was so happy they played it XD; sora to ito and ryuusei also got me really worked up ;w;

- The coolest performance of Shion ever!! they had fire shooting out in bursts during the hard beats in the beginning as well as in the middle and end of the song. and the lighting was all red and there were flame designs on the screens in the background and it was so AWESOME i couldn't believe it o.o plus i could feel the heat from those flames XD

- Libra is so damn amazing no matter what |D and Fuzz is ridiculously fun~

- Tatsu kept asking if we "had enough to eat" as in are we tired yet, lol. he was like, "can you guys still eat more??" and we were like YEAH and he was like "you're still hungry?? i guess cause if you guys don't eat you'll get skinny. so you don't want to lose weight? is that it?" and we were like yeeeahh.... lol, and at another point he was like "can you still eat more? is it because sweet things go in your other stomach??" XDD

- During yasashii uta, tatsu was like "do you guys have your cellphones??" and we were like "o.O? uhh..." and he was like "take them out! hurry!" so there were about 10,000 people all digging for their cellphones at once XDD but it was really beautiful when the lights were turned down and we all sang the "lalala~" parts together while waving our phones :D though i don't know if it crossed tatsu's mind how easy that made it to take pictures/videos, which technically isn't allowed XD i didn't btw! during the concert >.>

- During satochi's drum solo, the whole drumset/stand thing was lifted into the air so he could practically touch that huge ball when he raised his drumsticks :D everyone was whooaaaaa-ing over that, lol XD

- The most epic part: when yukke joined sato for the drum/bass solo.

yukke was sitting down and playing, and on the big screens pictures started showing up. it went one member at a time, and they used the sora to ito photos.

first was "miya's image", and that hxc picture of miya had been photoshopped so he had gangster hair +a long white coat XD then yukke started playing his bass to make it sound like someone revving a motorcyle while a video of someone's hands revving a motorcyle was playing. then gangster!miya was about to be caught by the police, so yukke and sato made a kind of police siren sound with a beat and it was awesome XDD gangster!miya managed to escape, btw |D

then was tatsuro's image. which was titled "scarier than a monster tatsuro" ┌(_д_┌)┐ so yukke played a jaws-like scary movie beat while old creepy pictures of tatsu were shown on the screen XDD epiccc

then yukke, hehe. i forgot what the title was, but it was basically two girl mucc fans' voices talking about him while a <3 meter when up and down depending on what they said, lolz.
it went something like:
girl a: hasn't yukke been looking cool lately~?
(yukke plays that cartoon-like, rolling sound of something being raised or going up...if you know what i mean ><)
girl b: really? i don't think so
(yukke plays a "going down" sound, and the <3 meter goes down XD)
girl a: he has cool points though! (meter goes up)
girl b: ......like what? (meter goes down)
girl a: well, his hair is so soft looking~ (+something else i forgot, but the meter goes up)
girl b: he has so much leg hair (meter goes down)
they poke at him some more, and then they both go "but we love yukke like that~! <33" and the meter goes all the way up~
everyone started cheering, until the girls were like "we love him the 4th most! (out of the members)" and the meter goes all the way down XDD it was soooooo funny, holy crap.

unfortunately i srsly didn't understand satochi's XD it was a picture of him with two barbells like he was working out, and every time yukke played a note his nose started growing, then going back down 8D that continued for a while, then at the end the speed picked up and sato's nose eventually turned into a yellow flower that started blooming XDD;;; i didn't get it but it was funny! lol!

- During one of the encores, miya, yukke, and sato all got up onto that vocalist stand thing in the front of the stage and were waving and peace-signing. then tatsu sauntered up, pushed them all off and raised both his hands in the air and got all the attention XDD behind him yukke was gesturing to sato to push him off, lol

- After tatsu had thrown all of his picks into the audience he picked up yukke's bass and pretended to throw it too XD it took a sec for yukke to notice, then he was like ahhhh;askdfj;asldkfjskldfj *takes it back*

i just wish there was more of them talking and being stupid D: oh well, it was still amazing☆

lastly~

i have never seen a cooler survey paper thing. honestly, i usually don't fill them out cause.....i dunno, i usually don't have time/a place/a pen/completely forget/whatever, but this time it was guaranteed that they were not getting it back 8D

Though since there are so many people translating Gazette stuff nowadays, I'm not sure if someone else was planning on doing this or not >< So if you were, sorry! Gazette Neo Genesis Vol. 33 Interview

Since this is the day of your 7th anniversary, I would like to go with the theme of "Gazette's 7 Strange Points". Though it's okay if they aren't strange (laugh). I just would like to get to know you once again.
Uruha: So why is Kai-kun the leader?
Kai: I'm the one who wants to question this the most though (laugh)
Ruki: It's a wonder to everyone in the country
Aoi: Then let's just say I'm the best answer
Kai: Will the mystery finally be solved?
Aoi: I guess one reason would be his virtuousness
Reita: Definitely
Kai: Oh? What's with that?
Uruha: Virtuousness, capability, skill
Kai: Stop! Hurry up and drop it

- (laugh) So changing the subject, what about lives? Do you have any jinxes, or something you always do before a live?
Reita: First Leader confirms the setlist with the staff. Then lastly the other members get together and we talk about specific things to do during the songs or in between them.
Uruha: If we don't do that, then we won't be able to get worked up about it, right?
Kai: Though I think that more than anyone, I want to be the one to confirm it.

- So what do you do individually?
Ruki: Before I go onstage, I face the stage and clap twice then bow. As a courtesy.
Uruha: Like a sumo wrestler before stepping into the arena.
Reita: I sprinkle salt

- (laugh) Well I guess for an artist the stage is like an arena.
Ruki: I don't really think about it, I just do it. It's not even that it gets me pumped up or anything. I guess it's like a "Yoroshiku onegaishimasu for today too" kind of thing.
Aoi: I guess that's why their lives are so amazing.
Kai: So it's someone else's band, huh (laugh)
Uruha: As for what I do....
Ruki: Frisk? For me, whenever Uruha takes out the Frisk, I won't be satisfied until I have one.
Uruha: Seriously~ Even though it's my Frisk, for some reason everyone ends up eating them.
Aoi: Oh, those were yours? I never knew that. They were just sitting in a tray, so I thought it's ok to eat them.
Uruha: They're mine. I have to have some before a live. When I eat them I wake up.
Ruki: So you were tired before!
Reita: Also, if I don't stretch my Achilles tendon it could be kind of dangerous. But I think everyone does some kind of warm-up.
Aoi: I thought about it, but I don't do it.
Reita: Aoi-san drinks coffee.
Ruki: Ah, he does doesn't he.
Reita: Though he's always drinking it (laugh). Ah, and that. Aoi-san bumps fists with everyone, like a "yoroshiku" kind of thing.
Aoi: Well I think doing that shows teamwork. But Kai-kun is always up in front before we go onstage, so I haven't really done it with him.

- Do you think you've changed since 7 years ago?
Aoi: But there is one person we don't even know
Reita: Don't say that~ (laugh)
Uruha: He (the drummer) did change, though.
Ruki: A while ago I started watching our CD comment videos starting from before Kai-kun joined up until the recent ones. Watching those did make me think we've changed. Our voices got older.
Reita: And it's amazing how we messed around before.
Ruki: And it's our thing to say "We're the GazettE". We would go, "We're Ga, Ga, Gazette, Gazette~!" and purposefully not say it all together. If you listen to the recent ones we say, "(low energy) We're the GazettE..." like we're in a bad mood.

- (laugh)
Ruki: I watched that and thought we have changed. Like, ah, our noses are growing~
Everyone: Hahahaha.....
Ruki: We have changed on the outside, but I don't feel like we're that different on the inside.

- So what about the things you talk about?
Reita: I think that's something that hasn't changed the most (laugh)
Ruki: Because we can still get worked up talking about the same things!!
Uruha: What I think has changed when I look at the members is our money sense.
Reita: If you compare it to 7 years ago, now we can live off of music, and for the most part we have a decent living.
Aoi: Yeah, I can actually eat now.
Uruha: We seriously couldn't eat before!! We were living on the edge.

- So your lifestyle is on a higher level compared to then.
Aoi: We finally caught up to the crowd.
Reita: Before we sometimes didn't have part-time jobs.
Uruha: Back then even gyudon was a luxury.
Aoi: But it was charming in a way
Reita: Do you remember getting treated by Aoi-san? With nikuman or something.
Ruki: We did we did we did
Aoi: Nikuman is about 100 yen
Reita: No, at that time 100 yen was a lot
Uruha: Aoi-san worked the most, though
Reita: And when I was drinking juice I had bought with that scarce money, Ruki would ask for some.
Ruki: That hasn't changed.
Reita: It's okay now. At that time it was like I had to last until the next day on that one bottle of juice.
Ruki: For me, I would use the amount of money that juice would cost to buy a bento, then get juice from someone else.
Aoi: If you're talking about something you get from someone else, it's cigarettes.
Uruha: My cigarettes would run out about 3 times faster.
Ruki: Yeah, I did ask for cigarettes a lot.
Uruha: If I left a pack on the dashboard of the equipment van, all of a sudden the seal would be broken.
Reita: It was your fault for leaving it there (laugh)

- So your poor life has changed, and you've started living by yourselves, huh. Though Aoi-kun was already living alone when he came to Tokyo.
Reita: Yeah, at the beginning we were all family
Ruki: I wasn't a homeless middle-schooler, but homeless visual kei.
Uruha: That's awful!

- Would you switch between staying at other people's houses?
Aoi: Ruki was horrible~
Uruha: At that time we weren't really a band, though. We couldn't buy equipment, or guitars. We couldn't be picky about the sound. And it took a lot of work just to buy a QY (equipment with a rhythm machine and sequencer).
Reita: And wasn't it yours? (laugh)
Ruki: That was really useful, too. While using it I would think, "Wow, a QY can do this much!"

- So your early songs were made that way.
Aoi: Up until about 5 years ago, yes.
Uruha: Since it was small, it could make songs while I was asleep holding it.
Ruki: It was QY up until "Gama", right? But by "COCKROACH" we started to reach it's limit (laugh). At about that time we first bought computers I think. Oh yeah, and at the beginning I remember putting songs on it at karaoke boxes.
Reita: Ah, "Haru ni chirikeri, mi wa kareru de gozaimasu", right? Didn't we record that for our first interview?
Uruha: Yeah, yeah. We were told that they wouldn't get it if we didn't have songs on it, so go put some on. We brought an MTR (Multi-track recorder) this big (spreads hands apart) to the karaoke box (laugh)
Reita: And at karaoke the price is determined by the number of people, right. So Ruki and Uruha went, then Aoi and I walked around Shibuya. And got asked, "Do you want to try this new razor?" (laugh)
Kai: What was I doing at that time? I think was there during "Haru chiri".
Reita: Eh, were you there?
Uruha: I didn't think you were?
Ruki: Was it because we didn't include you?
Reita: Wahaha! Probably because we lived close to each other so we went together.
Uruha: But it wasn't like you were singing while the song was playing through speakers. I was holding the MTR and Ruki was doing his best to sing while wearing headphones, so you could hear me laughing.
Ruki: I reeally hated that
Uruha: (laugh) I was like, "Don't mind me"
Ruki: At that time, for a while I didn't like singing in front of people, so we didn't have songs on it.
Uruha: It was really funny because you sang it all just saying "La"....
Ruki: Isn't this the first time we've talked about that?
Reita: That's true!

- It seems like there are a lot more episodes that you haven't remembered. For example your fashion has changed.
Uruha: Aoi-san would drive while wearing platform boots, wouldn't he.
Reita: At that time we all wore them.
Kai: I didn't wear them. I went barefoot.
Uruha: Didn't you have shoes that looked like hamburgers? Because I had a fan point something out to me, too. I went into Rokumeikan in short pants and sneakers with no socks. I was told, "Uruha-san, that doesn't work", but I didn't get what was bad about it (laugh).
Ruki: But Reita wore aloha shirts with a towel around his neck. You totally looked like a guy who lived at the beach.
Reita: I was so cool back then~ (laugh)
Uruha: It didn't matter what people thought.
Ruki: Do you remember when you first met me?
Reita: I do. We were in different bands, and we had pink hair. Then we got really worked up talking about what we use to dye it. We decided to go home together, but then Ruki started talking to someone waiting to go onstage.
Ruki: Wahaha!
Uruha: That was Seventh Avenue, right
Ruki&Reita: It was DIMENSION
Uruha: No, it was definitely Seventh!
Reita: It was definitely DIMENSION!

- Your memories are different (laugh)
Ruki: And I mailed you when I dyed my hair blonde, didn't I.
Reita: Yeah, yeah. Ruki dyed his hair blonde first, and I also wanted it blonde, but before I took out the pink I remember mailing you and asking what you used to take it out.

- Like a middle-schooler (laugh)
Ruki: I dyed Uruha's hair, too
Uruha: That was fun
Ruki: Since we didn't have money to go to a salon. Aoi-san had blonde hair and wore Cowichan Sweaters. The red one with reindeer on it.
Aoi: Shutup! It was Jeans Mate (laugh)
Ruki: And after that, a long fur coat
Uruha: That had punch to it
Aoi: .........
Ruki: Ah, then it changed to a grey fur coat. That was pretty amazing, too.
Aoi: ......I don't think I like talking about the past.
Kai: Maybe we should get back to the present (laugh)

- Have you ever seen the members doing something really weird? For example at the hotel while you're on tour or something.
Kai: The strangest one would be Ruki. With the other members, even if our rooms are separate we'll still run into each other in the hallways, but I honestly never see Ruki.
Aoi: I saw him once!! He was in a knitted hat and wearing a face mask, also wearing the hotel bathrobe and slippers. I was like, "This never happens!"
Ruki: No, I just wanted to go buy some juice. And I didn't want to be seen by anyone....
Uruha: Wouldn't it be worse to be seen like that?
Ruki: I never knew that Aoi-san saw me (laugh)

- So what about any weird things you do during your daily life?
Reita: There is something that made me think, "Is this just me?". When I get out of the bath, I dry off my whole body with a hair dryer.
Ruki: Ehhh?
Reita: I dry off a little first, though. Then it feels really good to get completely dried out with a hair dryer. Your pajamas go on easily too, so you should definitely try it today.
Uruha: Kind of like that, I dry off before I get out of the bath. I swipe off the water on me with my hands, then ring out my hair.
Aoi: I wouldn't do that

- Anything else?
Kai: When I'm walking down the street I always want to walk in the narrowest areas. I'll purposefully walk between a wall and a telephone pole, or go to the corner in an elevator.
Uruha: I always move around so I don't look like a suspicious person.
Reita: That's being suspicious
Uruha: No, no (laugh). For example if you're walking at night and there's a girl walking in front of you and you start walking behind her at the same speed, wouldn't you be thought of as weird?
Aoi&Reita: I totally understand that!
Uruha: But reversely if there's a suspicious old guy walking behind me I start thinking, "What if this guy...."

- Are there any weird things you do when eating, or weird things you eat?
Ruki: There is something that I always do..... You know the candy called Happy Tan?
Uruha: Don't tell me, you lick it?
Ruki: Yeah. I'm not satisfied until I lick it halfway and then eat it.
Uruha: This guy loves flavors.
Ruki: I'll also just take the chocolate part off of Pocky.
Uruha: I get that! I also eat the chocolate parts of Kinoko no Yama first too. But it doesn't work with Takenoko no Sato.
Ruki: I don't feel the same about that one (laugh). I'll also eat just the middle of a cream puff first.
Aoi: So you want to make it twice as good.
Reita: That's thinking like a poor person.
Aoi: Definitely like a poor person.

- Then is there anything about Gazette which has just reached it's 7th anniversary that you reversely never want to change?
Ruki: Our mindset I think. Our attitude towards the band won't change. That we can be careless, weird, or serious won't change. In a good way we have no sense of being professional. That hasn't changed since before.

- What are some great points of the other members that you don't want to change?
Aoi: I think it's nice that Ruki-kun can talk well.
Reita: That's true~
Kai: That you can't hate him?
Ruki: I've never done anything to be hated by you.
Kai: Even if he does something wrong it's like, "Well it's Ruki so I guess it's okay!"
Ruki: Like if I skipped a song during a live?
Aoi: That we wouldn't forgive.

- What about a great point of Kai-kun that you don't want to change?
Ruki: If he'll keep forgetting stuff like always
Kai: I haven't done that recently though
Reita: That he's not very put together?
Aoi: I think it's great that he tries his hardest to take in everyone's opinions. ......I'm not sure if they're taken in or not, but he's working hard at being the leader.
Ruki: The first time I thought, "He's doing something leader-like~" was the mail he sent a while ago. He sent out a message to everyone connected saying that a meeting for the song selection was postponed. And it was a long message for once. [He said "long" in English]
Aoi: Say "long message"! [in Japanese]
Uruha: Wasn't that the first time he did something independently?
Aoi: But I don't have his number saved in my phone, so I didn't know who it was from.
Kai: O--i! Save it already! (laugh)

- What about Uruha-kun?
Kai: He goes by his own pace
Aoi: He might be the one who hasn't changed the most. I think because he doesn't waver regarding what he has.
Uruha: .....It's embarrassing being the center of attention!
Kai: The shy Uruha-kun.
Uruha: .......That's it?
Kai: You really don't change (laugh)
Reita: But there are things he gets worked up about. In the past, a roadie got into an accident and I got hit in the head and neck. I was taken to a hospital in Saitama, and Uruha called my parents living in Kanagawa, and they later told me that he offered to come pick them up. That sort of made me tear up.
Uruha: Though if they had said, "Ok, please do", I don't know what I would have done.
Reita: Hey! (laugh) Wouldn't it be better to not say that now?
Uruha: Ah, um, yeah!
Reita: Well in the end my parents came themselves!
Ruki: Then what's the point!
Reita: But, well, the thought made me happy
Aoi: Now let's move on to what hasn't changed about me
Reita: Am I last? I'll be like the butt of the joke.
Ruki: Aoi-san had more of an aloof image before.
Uruha: But isn't he the most human?
Reita: Aoi-san will treat us even now. A while ago, he.....what was it again?
Uruha: What was it?
Reita: You know, you guys shouldn't forget what people have done for you.
Kai: Then you say it.
Reita: Eh?
Ruki: He treated us at Royal Host.
Reita: He's always treated us to nikuman.
Ruki: How many times are you going to talk about nikuman?
Reita: (laugh) That generosity is pretty manly.
Ruki: Unexpectedly, he'll do almost anything for you if you ask him.
Aoi: Though no one really asks
Ruki: But if you do ask he'll definitely do it grudgingly

- That's really cool~
Uruha: Now you definitely can't refuse anymore!
Aoi: (laugh) But if someone asks, I really do want to honestly say "That's fine".
Kai: So you can't be honest (laugh)
Ruki: He'll definitely say, "I guess I don't have a choice~", and then do it for you.

- Though that's not bad, is it?
Ruki: Do mine over again. All you said was that I talk.
Kai: We said you were playful (laugh)

- Ok, let's talk about Reita-kun, then Ruki after.
Reita: Oh, so you decided to be the butt of the joke on your own?
Kai: It's very like Reita to think about the joke, though. Because he's funny.
Uruha: I can only think of things I want to call him on.
Ruki: I guess that he's pretty calm?
Uruha: If we went by "ROOKIES", he'd be Okada.
Reita: Who's Okada? You think it's okay to say if I don't know?

- (laugh) So Reita-kun softens the atmosphere then.
Aoi: No. When he's not feeling up to it, he doesn't do anything. I think getting the atmosphere going is his biggest job. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that he gets paid for it. And there are times when he neglects to do it. I don't like that Reita.
Reita: I'll do my best~
Aoi: But before lives, he's the one trying the hardest to get everyone riled up.
Uruha: His network of information is amazing.
Reita: Say "information network". [Correcting each others' language again]

- But Uruha-kun also always tries to make people happy, right?
Uruha: No, it's not really like that....
Reita: He makes us happy with his natural cluelessness.
Aoi: You are well-informed, though.
Uruha: About things like martial arts or other sports athletes.

- Are you getting embarrassed?
Reita: ...........
Uruha: Eh, are you embarrassed?
Reita: ........... (blush)

- Then lastly, Ruki-kun.
Ruki: Eh, I was joking before.
Aoi: Ruki-kun does after all have the ability to bring color to the GazettE. .......We're being serious now, right?

- We've been serious this whole time (laugh)
Aoi: Because the vocalist is the face of the band
Uruha: Ruki-kun is thoughtful of his friends
Aoi: The conversation is totally different than before!
Ruki: Ah, I do actually have a lot of friends
Aoi: But you're not thoughtful of them at all
Ruki: That's not true (laugh)
Aoi: Whenever Ruki says to me, "Let's go clothes shopping", I always say "Yeah, let's go", but if I invite him he'll never go.
Ruki: (laugh) That's just a characteristic of B blood types. If I'm not interested in something, then I'm not interested. And I won't invite people. When I went with Reita it was a chance to do my own shopping as well, so I went.
Reita: I mailed him saying, "Do you want to go shopping?", but he didn't reply. Then he called me and was like, "Come pick me up".
Uruha: That's not a good conversation at all!
Aoi: .......He's a good guy
Kai: He got serious (laugh)

SO. i forgot to mention that i randomly got a ticket to gazette's 7th anniversary live on 2chan. i wasn't expecting to get it and i can't believe it ;w;

and i just got back a while ago.

first off--

i want to smack ruki sooo bad right now XD

in a recent interview where they were talking about this concert, he was like "you're greatly mistaken if you think we're gonna play a bunch of old songs just because this is our 7th anniversary, lol"
and i totally believed him cause gazette just seems to be doing that now.

the first song was "anata no tame no kono inochi". i think the entire audience (+me) almost had a heart attack XD

but backing it up~

first off, the weather this morning cleared up amazingly~! it was soo warm! i only needed ONE light jacket! :O sooo happy~ plus the horoscope thing on the train while i was heading to the concert said that sagittarius was the luckiest sign that day |3 i was in a good mood~

but actually it wasn't even in tokyo, it was in chiba, lol. an hour+about $7 train ride one way =____=

so when i got to tokyo station to switch to the line that would take me to the place, everything all of a sudden got a lot easier. you just play follow-the-weirdos |D sooo much spiky hair, chains, black, huge shoes, nosebands...the train ride was entertaining to say the least, lol.
plus some of the cosplayers srsly looked like the guys o.o it was funny watching uruha and reita play acchi muite hoi when they got bored XD then a normal guy was about to walk onto the train, saw zetsu!ruki right in front of him, and changed his mind 8D

then like 45 minutes later i got there~

it's a reeally nice area, and makuhari messe is this huge convention center thing with a concert arena and tons of other event halls and stuff.

so i followed the signs, turned a corner, and saw~

the goods line |D

though it was suprisingly short, only about 45 minutes. sid took like 3 hours, so i was expecting around that o.O whatever~ i just got the towel, cause honestly i didn't really like the design of most of the other stuff >.> i <3 u ruki, but i don't feel the need to have some random white girl's face plus random english words on my shirt XD

aanyway, the hall itself was HUGE. basically a gigantic open warehouse-like building with a stage, lol. i think you could srsly fit a boeing 777 in there and still have room. so they filled it with chairs |D
luckily i was in the C-block (it went up to F i think), so i could see them, but i still wasn't exactly close.

so yeah, the guys

looked AMAZING *A*

- ruki had a red suit thing on and silver stuff in his hair that looked kinda like the dreadlocks from before. just shiny XD
- aoi seems to have been eating lately, which makes me happy, lol. goddamn he looked hot |D

Neo genesis Vol. 31 - Tatsurou Solo Interview

- It seems like you finished taping late last night (the day of the interview).... That's a pretty hard schedule.

And we also went to Europe in between. So apparently we got it done just in time.... But there were a lot of songs that could only be done because of "Taste of Chaos". I think it added some good elements.

- And I'm sure that's true for the American version of "Taste~". The motivation you recieved from that tour is also reflected in the songs this time.

- What's with that (laugh)

[in English] Probably!

- You don't have to speak in English, even if you got motivation from an overseas tour (laugh)

(laugh) That's definitely true for "Ageha", though. Because of that influence, we started showing nuances and things in a more direct way. Musically, we've been taking after that "Ageha" sound. The violent ones, metal ones, the pop ones....I guess it's comparitively kind of like "metal pop".

- That's true. The sound is heavy, but there's a steady melody. I thought it really showed that "MUCC-like" point.

But it's also because during "Taste~", we listened to those kinds of CDs the whole time. As expected, if you're sharing a stage everyday with bands who are that metal....If you're overseas doing lives together and experiencing the atmosphere of the place, it is a little different than just listening to CDs. And when I listened to Story of the year's CDs before we went, then actually got to see and feel them live, it was completely different. Their performance was amazing, and what I felt really was different. What I felt with my entire body. And I felt it firsthand. I think you can feel that influence in actuality during lives. Including being able to be on tour together with those kinds of bands, it was a very significant year.

- Because if it's something you felt while sharing the same place with them, it can't be fake.

That's right. For us, even if we didn't like that we would have participated anyway. If nothing had changed, it would have been like, "We didn't get anything out of it....". But I think the opposite is also true. Because we were able to be part of this group, there was a "Let's find our own merit that's different from these guys" pattern of thinking.

- It seems like that's what MUCC's singles were like this year. Then, going back to the subject....The sound is violent and heavy. I noticed the feeling of the songs themselves are serious, but the melodies are really catchy. That made a strong impression on me.

Ahh~ Some of the finer points are difficult to catch, but the melodies are for the most part easy to remember. Well, for instance....The movements during a really detailed melody. We used to have a "Japanese melody" sort of feeling, and the movements for the halftones were difficult.

- But that "Japanese melody" really showed the worth of MUCC's sound. None of the other bands in "Taste~" had that.

Yes, there were a lot of things they had that we didn't, as well as the opposite. Which in itself meant that each band really did have their own weapon.

- We're not done yet (laugh)

Ahhh~ (laugh) Well, if you say "Japanese", you'd probably mean folk. Like popular music, or something with a familiar melody. I like that kind of thing, so I just happened to explain it as "Japanese". I don't really know how to explain it though...."Postwar" or something? (laugh)

- I see (laugh). When you stress the word "Japanese", I guess you would think of traditional Japanese music. Also an image of traditional performing arts like like gagaku or koto music.

Yeah. Or something like kagura. But we're pretty different from that kind of thing. I guess I like "Showa". If you say "Japanese style" too often, then it feels like it's going back even farther than that (laugh). I think what I like is "Showa popular music". I don't think those melodies have changed much, even when compared to the past. Our sound is gradually changing, but apparently when we're making songs, the melodies produced that we honestly like aren't going to change. But the sound, the arrangement, the feeling of the genre....even if the things we take in do change in various ways. And even this song, if you added a completely pop music orchestra to it, it might become a really beta version of a pop song.

- Then, even now do you still listen to those "Showa popular songs"? I also thought I'd ask about general stories from 2008 this time..... What music did you listen to a lot this year? Or even just something you've been into recently.

Recently, pretty much....Tetsuya Komuro. He makes me want to listen to globe.

- I don't really feel like calling you on that right now..... Your current joke.

(laugh) No, no, no! Seriously! It's "DEPARTURES" for me. Out of Japanese winter songs I like that one the most. I just can't help listening to "DEPARTURES" during this season~ And "Winter again" by GLAY. I love that one! Out of Western songs this season, it's "A Hazy Shade of Winter" by Simon and Garfunkel. And for Christmas songs, it has to be that one! "Last Christmas".

- You unexpectedly like the beta ones (laugh)

Though there are a lot of Christmas songs I like right now. For me, Christmas songs aren't Mariah Carey, but definitely Wham! ..................I'm digressing, huh.

- I'm sorry.....the conversation was so interesting, I just...

- Like I said, it's not over yet (laugh). Do you really want to end the interview that quickly....

- Yes (laugh) We were talking about Tatsurou-san's news on music in 2008.

Let's see.... There's a lot on my iPod.... I have different things, and I listen to it on shuffle. What did I listen to this year.... I think I listened to Syrup (Syrup 16g) a lot. They broke up though, was it last year?

- Ah, no. It was this year. They released their last album at the beginning of the year, then had their last live in March at Budokan.... It's unfortunate.

I know.... But before that I hadn't really listened to them. The first album I listened to was their last one. And I really loved that album. The words were awesome. It made me want to listen to their other stuff. Also, Kyuumili (9mm Parabellum Bullet). Kyuumili is....I guess a "cluster"? I love their sound, and the words are interesting too.

- Like the words and the sound form a huge cluster and attack, kinda thing. That band has amazing force, doesn't it. Sorry, the conversation is going in all different directions. Let's go back again. So the title of your new single still hasn't been decided?

Not yet. But we're being told to just decide already..... Maybe I'll decide now (laugh).

- (A few days later, "Sora to Ito" was chosen as the official title) The temporary title was "MUCK", which made everyone go "Ohh!". Who's idea was that?

Miya-kun's. Originally that was our order. From the managers. There were requests that they would like to hear something with a MUCC-like melody, that's kind heavy with a metal element to it. And it was a song we made during that time, so I don't think there's a very deep meaning behind it or anything. This is just the feeling MUCC has right now. That's it.

- But we were also talking about the phrase "MUCC-like" before. That both sound and lyric-wise, you've made a song with a "MUCC-like" feeling.

Ahh~..... How should I say..... Well, you could say that about the lyrics anyway. I had a really hard time with this one. I had first written lyrics with a completely different shape to them. The theme and everything was totally different. But I re-did those, and it turned into what we have now, but.... As expected, the title "MUCK" wasn't taken seriously at all. I started thinking "Ok then, what's at the core of MUCC?", and what I started writing at first was.... I wonder? Well for example, the theme of "endings", which we used a lot in the past. I thought about how I like things that aren't happy endings or pretty words, so I wrote about that.

- Yes, I see.

But I think now it's a little different. Later, when I saw lives of other bands I thought things like, "Ahh...we've always done it without hiding our feelings, too". Even in interviews we would talk about what our "feelings" were, and that's become MUCC's weapon as well as mine, and I definitely didn't want to lose when it came to anything else. Then, I abandoned things like what makes a single easy to understand or how to see the whole picture, and thought about what was "MUCC-like"..... When I sing, it gets me really worked up. So I tried writing lyrics that even if other people say "That's hard to understand", it doesn't matter because I understand it when I sing. Lyrics that would bring out the entire surface of those "feelings" and "emotions". Though I like it either way. But for the single this time we figured this way is better, so that's how it happened.

- Because songs that "spit out emotions" are something MUCC has always done, huh.

That's right. How should I say.... 2009 marks 12 years for MUCC. So we started with those "feelings", and now we're returning to "feelings", kinda thing.... For example, especially when you're young, I think there's a time when people have rebellious thoughts about things in the world. Like, if you run over a person with a car it's a crime, so why isn't it a crime if you run over a cat.... Or "I really don't get what's so important about my life" and childish thoughts like that. I know I've had them, so I think most everyone has. I used to **hate** that, when someone hits a pigeon or something and all they worry about is if it damaged the car or not.

- Those things do happen, though it's not fun to talk about.... But they do, in reality.

They do. Like, "That's not the point!". Because that's just being self-centered. Though humans happen to have an abundance of "feelings", so we can think about these things, but a cat or a bird might have died without understanding, or something....

- And "cats" come up in the lyrics this time, too. That kind of scene, and how various "feelings" pile up. And to that extent, about living or dying.... People might especially think about that kind of thing during adolescence.

I'm still an adolescent though!

- (laugh) Forever young, huh. Even though it was such a serious conversation, once again.... (laugh)

People are always inexperienced kids (laugh). Really childish.... But reversely, it would be sad if that was lost. As you get older, you get used to things. Or become numb to them. Because when you're young, you can only see this much (puts hands close together). But when you grow up, it (your field of view) gets wider because of different experiences. In the past it would just be like, "That teacher pisses me off!", and you only think of your own feelings. Though when you become an adult, the teacher is still annoying, but you realize that they must be having a lot of trouble themselves (laugh). So you start to understand things like that. And once you reach a certain age, you start to learn how to give up. Give up, or compromise.

- Probably because there are more things that can't be solved just with "feelings". When you become an adult, that's true for work or anything else.

Yes, yes, yes. Since kids don't know how to give up (laugh). But actually, I think that's a good thing.

- So throwing out those real "feelings", even if it's childish. I'm sure that part of MUCC won't really change, either.

That's true. Even if our sound changes, that probably won't.

- That's the third time..... Can we please talk for a little longer? (laugh). Lastly, at least your general thoughts on 2008. Since it's finally your own solo interview, I would like to ask some more personal questions. "Ageha" was released in August, which is your birthday month, isn't it?

Ah, yes. So, what day is it on then?

- It's the 21st.

Oohh!!

- Come on, I can remember that much at least (laugh). So did you do anything party-like on your birthday? Because Tatsurou-san is someone with a lot of friends, I get the feeling that you would have some sort of huge party (laugh).

I really don't though (laugh). MUCC doesn't. On the 21st....there was that. The FC report interview. Then from the afternoon I hung out in Odaiba with Gara from Merry.

- A fanclub report, huh. And what did just you two guys do together (laugh).

Really, it was just hanging out (laugh). We went to an onsen in Oedo, and to a game center. So I did that in the afternoon, then was free again at night..... Ahh, that's right. Satochi said he was going to drink with his friend from Ibaraki, so I said I'd show up, too. Then we went to play pool, and they treated me. Cause it was my birthday (laugh).

- Did you get any interesting birthday presents?

Did I..... Or, actually..... That day, I did what I was supposed to at the company, then I said "I'm going to an onsen in Oedo~", and went downstairs.... Usually, there's a suprise like a cake or something. Well, today the members aren't here but there's probably something, is what I thought. And when I opened the door, Gara was there (laugh). I was like, "Why are you here!?". I knew we were going to meet up later, but I was really suprised when he was there at that time.

- So your present was Gara-san (laugh)

Yeah (laugh). But there was also a cake. And I bought some sneakers. As a present for myself (laugh). Expensive ones, too. At that time I wanted the first Reebok Instapump Fury more than anything. They're sneakers from when we were in high school, so more than ten years ago. And the ones before the model change. They were easily damaged, so that's why they changed it. Then, dead stock got a really beautiful pair in, but when I put them on the soles came apart in one day.

- That can't be true (laugh). No matter how easily damageable they are.

No, really, really! They just deteriorated.

- Ah, is that so. Since they're old, they must have been like that. That's so sad....(laugh). Is there anything else you've gotten into this year?

This year, I was obsessed with sneakers and..... Was there anything else~? Ah, "Naruto"!

- Which "naruto" would that be?

The manga (laugh)

- So not what's often on ramen (laugh). It seems like "NARUTO" is very popular. Enough so that it was one of the top 10 Yahoo! searches even in America.

Heh~ I had never read it before. Though I figured it must be good if it's continued this long. Lately there haven't been many manga in "JUMP" that pull me in..... After "Death Note" ended, the only thing I read in "JUMP" was "One Piece". But once I read "Naruto" I thought it was really good, so I looked for it and read it at manga cafes. While thinking "Crap! There's still 20 books left...." (laugh). It's so fun!

- You really like manga cafes, huh~ Do still go to them often?

Of course I do! I go all the time. I went a lot in 2008, too.

- It's kind of hard to imagine the member of a band who puts on such intense shows like "Taste~" sitting around at a manga cafe (laugh).

I always want to go though! At manga cafes I can read something that I read a long time ago one more time. Things like, "How did Musashi beat Seijuurou in 'Vagabond' again?" will start to bother me (laugh). That one has a great quote in it though! His dead grandfather had said, "Stiffness is fighting spirit, flexibility is confidence". I thought, "That's true, those are good words". Then I read it again again on the first day of "Taste~". I kept thinking, "Ok, I'm at home! 'Stiffness is fighting spirit, flexibility is confidence'", and I was really stiff the first day (laugh).

- That's difficult.... Coming back from an American tour and returning home to Japan, you might have too much fighting spirit....

Yes, yes (laugh). I couldn't be flexible on the first day! I really think that was fighting spirit. "I'm at home!" kind of spirit. Those words really are true I think. Though by the second day I was super flexible.

- Did you have fun during the Europe version of "Taste~"?

Ah, yes. We didn't have much free time in America, but since the performance schedule was pretty loose in Europe, we were able to wander around the cities and stuff. During the second half, the places we went to all had buildings made of brick, so it was really beautiful. It's like wherever we went was Disney Sea (laugh). Ah! There was something that made an impression on me. In London, an ordinary person got out of a taxi and got into a fight with the driver. I couldn't understand why, though. Then, after he slammed the door shut.... he was like, "Fuckin! Cxxk Sxxker!" (laugh). That was when I first learned the right way to use that phrase (laugh).

- Words so dirty you don't know how to put them in Japanese (laugh)

I was finally able to hear someone say "Fuckin! Cxxk Sxxker!" with emotion (laugh). During "Taste~", when Story of the Year was on standby backstage, they said "Do your best!". But I laughed when they said it like, "Have a good show! Fuckin Cxxk Sxxker!" (laugh).

- In that setting, I feel like you could reversely get into that sort of thing (laugh). In those rough conditions. It seems like the overseas tours became a really big experience for you in 2008. And it was also because of them that "Ageha" and the single this time were made.

Yeah, it really.... No matter how many years go by, I think I'll always remember 2008 as the year of "Taste~". It was our first time doing a tour this big, and there were a lot of things we didn't know. It makes me think how great is was to meet so many people, and that I would like to do it again. Even after being in a band for 11 years, we could still discover this many new things.

- It really is great that even though you've had such a long career you can still have so many new experiences. I'm sure you want to go again.

I'm truly glad that our first huge overseas tour was this one. Though it does feel like we're neglecting Japan if we go on a such a large-scale tour, so we couldn't just go that lightly. Reversely it's like, sorry we made you wait so long while we were gone, but thank you for waiting. Those feelings are pretty strong, so I would like to make 2009 a year where we can resolve things like the impact from this overseas tour.

So Rina and I went to do a very late hatsumoude a while ago~ which was kinda nice cause apparently if you do it on the days you're actually supposed to, it's as crowded as a rock concert (how i measure crowdedness, lol).

first--!

we got lost! ┌(_д_┌)┐ trying to find the Tokyo Daijingu Shrine. Temple. um. yeah. XD;
but we finally found it after going in the complete opposite direction and being lol'd at by the dude in 7-11.

apparently a lot of young/middle aged women without boyfriends like to go to this shrine for the love fortunes, hehe.

so first, you're supposed to wash your hands at this little fountain in front. in a specific way, of course. i had to be taught how to do it, lol.

then, you line up behind all the other lonely women (sry, but it was funny), throw 5 or 10 yen or so into a big box, bow, clap your hands twice, pray for something, then bow twice more. again, i had to be taught this, but i think that's how it went XD

then the fun part! you go to the next area:

pay 100 yen, reach into a box, and get a fortune~! look, i even got a picture of ppl reading theirs XD they had a bunch though. some were flowers (yeah, i dunno), some for the blood types (i so almost got one), and some that were just the love fortunes, which me and rina got.

holy shit i just saw more than half of the bands i wanted to see while i was here. at once (￣∇￣) i <3 psc~

right, so because i'm sure there are better reports out there, i'll just summarize with Interesting Points, lol

first! was SuG!

jason went to the wrong place so i had to direct him and he was late, so we got inside halfway through their last song ┌(_д_┌)┐ which was love scream party which i love. but i'm not too upset cause i know i'm gonna go to a just SuG live at some point☆

then was screw! why did the indies bands only play two songs? retarted >.>
but screw is actually the only psc band that i don't know that well >< i like them, but they do look and sound a lot like gazette...their new song is awesome though XD

then miyavi and boko-chan (keiyuu, lol) came out in the traditional hakama outfits and it was adorable. i think deko is almost exactly a foot taller than boko XD

they were my first jrock band and i've loved them for years and i finally got to see them and i still can't believe it ;w;
but what was even more amazing than that,
their CLOTHES.

they were wearing hakama ;A; the whole traditional outfits, with long coats. i think it's the hottest thing i've ever seen them wear, and that's saying a LOT. their hakama were white and the coats (i know they have a name, lol) were black, but ruki's were the opposite 8D
so.
- reita looked unbelievable in that outfit. i srsly couldn't look at him for long without my brain completely turning off XD
- ruki clipped his bangs back and it was really cute
- i wish i knew how aoi can throw his head back and just his hair goes in slow motion
- speaking of, uruha's hair DIDN'T MOVE XDD he also had some guitar trouble D: but other than that looked amaazing~
- kai. just. guh. he tied up the sleeves of the coat so he could drum better but then i could see his arms and my brain died again.
- my brain had a hard time during this concert
- EVERYONE in budokan was headbanging at once and it looked cool
- plus headbanging and jumping around all hardcore-like looks reeeally awesome in hakama XDD
- cockroach is even crazier live than i thought 8D
- at some point aoi skipped offstage, but that might have been at the end, lol

i wish they played more *pouts* and i would have liked some slower songs, but whatevs. i neeed to see just them live |D maybe the 7th anniversary concert~

that kid cracks me up. his clothes *desk* he looked like some elf/clown/thing, but wtf. SO amazing live. saki hokoru hana no you ni~ i looove that song <33

i must point out that all of the guys in psc were on this stage. at once. where are you supposed to look?? (ノ゜Д。)ノ <-- what was going on in my head, lol

and then miyavi called the representatives of each band to come forward, take a mallet and smash the lid of a wooden sake barrel. though instead of sake those shiny silver ribbons came flying out everywhere~ it was sooo cool, but i didn't catch any shiny stuff. i never catch the shiny stuff D:
but one part that i thought was funny:

meev: ok, so the representatives we have are kai-kun, right? then shou-kun, and isshi....and maiccho!? can you even break it??

he managed, lol.

so it was amazing. and when the bands were all waving goodbye i swear takeru and mitsuru saw me and waved back when i did, fufu. that could also just be my imaginiation, but i'd appreciate it if you'd let it stay there |3

I have srsly never been to a more touching concert ;A; I'm so happy that gk_reiko-san was able to get the tickets <33

Definitely one of the Best Days Ever ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

here's the actual report~ thing~ and doing a new post instead cause i kinda fucked that up 8D comment again~ ><

so i wasn't able to see daigo *cries* there was a huge mob of ppl and the tickets sold out again. damn that guy and his popularity. i wanted to see him ;A;

oKAY, and after i had spent at least a couple of hours updating this and was practically finished, my fingers twitched or something and all of a sudden the page refreshed and everything was gone. at 4am. i think i'm gonna kill something :D

so let's try again~

right, so i met up with gk_reiko at like 2:45 and we decided to wait in line for the tour goods~

holy shit.
i have never seen a line like that in my life XD just in case you've never been to a concert like this:

this was the second part of the line, lol. all of these ppl are in it. it kind of winds up and down. but the first part was by the street and going down the sidewalk, with some more windy parts XD

and a couple hours later, we got to the third part~ ignore the fuzzy ppl~ it was mainly going along the wall and winding some more, lol

then FINALLY we could actually see budokan. yes, it had gotten dark by then, lol. that white tent is the goods booth, and all of those people are in the line =____= i can't believe everything wasn't sold out. they thought ahead well, thank god

so we finnallyyyy got there after what, three hours? more? well we got our stuff then got food and headed inside~

but first we found the group of sid cosplayers we had been trying to get a picture of the whole time XD we kept passing each other, lol. the aki one did an awesome job with the makeup~

but budokan is SO cool, both inside and out.

we had a better view than i thought :D but see those seats right in front of that little path going off the stage? those people got so much love and got to touch each member at least once and i got jealous, lol. plus the stage was set up so that the people sitting behind it got tons of love cause of that path thingy going around the back of the stage. which is really cool, but i got jealous again~

the rest of the stadium

the actual performance is just one big blur of amazing in my head, though (￣∀￣)
they started with ajisai, which suprised us, but it was soo beautiful. and what really stood out to me about this concert was that since the entire stage was white, it was like one big projection screen. so any colors or images they projected onto it were super bright and beautiful. i especially loved the butterflies going all over the stadium during natsukoi ^^ and memai! holy crap! Funnest Song Ever, it was so LOUD 8DD the parts where everyone goes "YEAH!" at once were sooo much fun☆

the energy during a lot of the songs was amazing, and made it one of the funnest things i've ever been to. plus sid has this way of making you feel like part of one big awesome group at some points, and at others like the song is being sung right to you. it's such a good feeling either way ;w;

a crappy picture i took during the live and the flash went off when it wasn't supposed to so i freaked out and didn't take any more XD;;

but the atmosphere was awesome~ and i never really thought about it with sid songs before, but it was such a different experience being able to feel the songs, lol. i expect it with harder rock bands, but if possible it was even cooler with a band like sid. aki and yuuya were pwning it |D plus during the screamy songs i was afraid i would srsly lose my hearing XD mao can scream reeeeeally loud, lol. i loved it <3

and of course they are hilarious during the mcs 8D
especially shinji making a dramatic entrance from the floor with blue lights and pretty music (even MAO didn't do that) and proceeding to sing a song about how he started playing guitar because he lost a rock paper scissors match. and joined the volleyball club because everyone else was doing sports, but he sucked and was always just picking up the balls for the ~~sempais~~ girls' team XD;;
and also of course, during the member introduction thingy he made everyone do the ohta issan call 8'D then he threw the can of it he was waving around into the audience, lol. kind of dangerous, but i doubt anyone cared. i ♥ shinji

and also also of course, mao did the sempai thing. this time his reasoning was something like, "since i did kendo when i was in school and i'm older than most of you, i've been doing it longer. so i'm the sempai." and he made everyone call him sempai as if we were asking for help with kendo |D i don't understand why he likes that so much, but it definitely made him happy, lol

so we called them back for two encores~ some of the longest encore calls ever, omg. it's a good thing there were like 14,000 of us or i don't think we would have been able to keep it up XD

but the ending was so touching. they played "binetsu", which is a beautiful song anyway, but in that atmosphere with the lighting and everything i got kind of teary ;w; and then at the end of the song mao got all emotional and just stood there with his face in his hands for a while and couldn't say anything. i was like shiitttt *gets even more teary*

and after they left, the video screens showed announcements~ a new single in january, a tour in the spring, and a collab with gemcerey. just like gazette 8D $400 rings, yay!

so basically i want the dvd like right now |3 there better be one, lol.

and i got the tote bag~ i love the design :D

plus the itai cellphone straps which didn't want to be photographed, lol. they are painfully awesome, though |D

and i am SO glad we have a break at school for a few days. i'm gonna need at least that long to recover XD;

so sid is amazing, and thank you again gk_reiko for going with me! :D it totally wouldn't have been as fun without someone else to share it with~

So yeah, things have been happening in Japan, I just haven't had the energy to write about them XD I thought I would be so much more genki and healthy and stuff here but nope, lol. Maybe it's cause I'm living on konbini yakisoba? not sure.

Interesting things!

1. A bunch of international students and me were interviewed randomly in Akiba for some NHK tv show thing. I never got to see it. faaaiillll. though maybe it has something to do with the fact that it apparently came on at 7am. lolz, not gonna happen.

2. I was on the train with another girl one day and she was playing the new pokemon game on her DS. She noticed a cute little high school kid next to her playing it too and she proceeded to randomly talk to him and they ended up battling each other and she got completely owned 8D I lol'd. Then the kid kept apologizing for beating her and it was really cute.

3. My phone bill was about $96. this happened to most of the girls. the guys' were around $65. why? still trying to figure it out o.O

4. I bought a little tarantula at this tiiinyy reptile store in some random part of tokyo.
it was in this really creepy building but i went anyway and the store was about the size of my dorm room, lol. there was only one guy working there but he was really nice and helped me after i stood staring at the spiders for like 15 minutes XD then i found the one i wanted and while i was hesitating he was like "Please think about it as long as you--" and i was like I'LL TAKE IT and he was like "O-- oh, arigatou gozaimasu! *little head bob*" then he gave me free crickets :D
and now my tarantula is busy making a web all over the place and it's cute (´∀｀) i need a pet♥

5. went to the official square enix museum shop thingy |D

i was totally gonna go to harajuku and wave at the camera but i was busy being lost trying to find the u.s. navy base. i failed. freaking government, making everything difficult =___= i wanted mountain dew....

first, that was like the worst plane trip i've ever taken. the shanghai airport is scary and weird and the people aren't super friendly. in japan the airport people were a lot more polite, but i still had to carry my freaking heavy bags onto a bus by myself to get to the right terminal =__= thaanks, meiji gakuin. but joe found me XD he's soo cool~

anyway! japan! is so confusing! the trains and the garbage sorting and the getting a cellphone and eeverything! but my toilet is heated, lol. yay.

i asked for the exact same one that was on the wall XD that was a nice test of my japanese skillz, lol

Neo Genesis Vol.23 - Ruki Interview Part 2 : Love

- There are a lot of questions I have to ask you concerning love, so yoroshiku onegaishimasu.

I think my answers might be different from before. So I'll get criticized for being inconsistent (laugh)

- Then let's accept that and get going!

Come on!

- (laugh) First, do you think love and people's blood types have anything to do with each other?

(Firmly) I do. I don't know which types go together well, though. But I do know that I'm a B type, so I go well with O type girls. Because O type girls seem to all have things in common.

- Like what?

Deep jealousy. But not a lot of them are silently jealous.

- So they scream?

Yeah. There are a lot of people who keep screaming and have heavy jealousy. They're also very grounded.

- What do you mean grounded?

It's hard to get them worked up but then hard to get them disinterested.

- So that's called grounded, huh.

It's like they'll keep going even to the bottom of hell.

- Are O types really like that...?

Of course you can't say that for everyone, but if they have a little bit of A blood mixed in, there are a lot of people like that.

- So you're compatible with people like that?

Well, there's just a better chance with O types. But the breaking up would be even more dangerous.

- What kind of relationship would that be (laugh)

It's the most dangerous. O types and B types go well together, but for me who's a B type, it's easy for me to lose interest in O type girls.

- But it's also easy for you to fall in love, right?

Yes....Ah~ But even if it's not with an O type I easily lose interest.

- Doesn't that mean you're just a guy who loses interest easily (laugh). So, what about two B types together?

It won't work. It would be difficult because neither of us would give in. But A types are the most hopeless.

- There are a lot of A type girls who say they don't like B type guys as well.

If I was told that, I would want to give them a body blow (laugh)

- What about AB types?

Out of the question.

- (bursts out laughing)

But I've gone out with different types of people. O types as well as A, B, and AB.

- It's like you're a department store (laugh). Then, the next question. What part of a girl do you look at first?

Honestly, the face. First I look at her face, but what I think is most important is if she's family-oriented.

- You can tell that by looking?

No. If she looks at a cookbook and says "I can't do this you know?", so she can't cook but in a kind of cute way, that's fine. But if she still makes it, like "Of course I can", that's a body blow. Though I would never say it tasted bad. Also, it's important whether or not she can cook a diet menu. And if she can take care of me if I get sick.

- Sympathetic, huh

Yes....I think I just now started wanting kindness like that.

- You didn't before?

Before now I thought that if she's cute I'll forgive anything, but that might be wrong.

- That's still pretty harsh, though

I'll get turned off by one face they make while sleeping, or kissing. Of course I know there's no helping it because they're human, but I don't like it if they have a bad sleeping position. If I could pick, I would want them to sleep curled up in a little ball.

- Even more conditions, huh.

Also, if she wears the same clothes as me two times in one week, that won't work.

- So you would want her to pick up on that, then.

Also, a girl who goes out without makeup on. If we went out together after that, wouldn't it cause trouble.

- (laugh) But for most of these things, other than face and clothes, you won't know unless you go out first.

No, no, no. Of course not.

- Eh, what do you mean? You won't know unless you try, right?

No, I wouldn't try first or anything. Though there are times when I have.

- (laugh) !

Well, I'm an adult already, but there are times when love starts that way. But what I was just talking about isn't all that important. What's most important is if they have a dream or not. I think that I really do like people who are working hard toward something.

- You finally got serious, huh.

What I've disliked the most so far is a girl who takes off work for me.

- Yes, that isn't good. Reversely, I would also hate it if my boyfriend took off work for me.

You would, right? Since work is work, I would want them to be aware of that. And a girl who sleeps in would really irritate me.

- Though it seems like the manager is the one getting irritated over there?

Well, yeah, I also sleep in (bitter laugh). But wouldn't it be weird if I was the one waking her up? Like, "Ne~ Don't you need to go to work--"

- I wouldn't want to see Ruki like that (laugh) But I guess it's just that whoever goes out with you is going to have it tough.

Because I'm still in the middle of looking for love.

- Have you ever fallen in love with two people at the same time?

If you read my lyrics I think you'll understand, but there are a lot of people who cheat, right? Because I'm not writing stuff I made up.

- Heh! So it has happened.

But it's impossible for me to love two people at once. If I have a girlfriend, but started being interested in someone else, I would just go that way.

- That's not cheating, it's just a change of heart isn't it.

Yes. So it's not loving two people at once or cheating. It's cut in, cut out.

- I see. But aren't there a lot of guys who carry their past loves with them?

No, I don't do that. I might carry around a past unrequited love, but I quickly forget about past relationships.

- Have you ever thought, "That was a great relationship" or anything?

I have....do you want to hear?

- Please tell me.

My high school girlfriend and I broke up because I cheated.

- ..........?

Damn, I have cheated!

- (laugh) !

Then once I lost her I understood. Like, "Ahh, that was a great girl".

- So you're not carrying it around, it just remains as a beautiful memory.

That's right. There are a few times when I've realized, "Now that I think about it, that was a great person". So that would be telling a lie when you break up.

- "GENTLE LIE", huh.

Yes. The last message I got from her said, "I was really happy when we were together. Thank you." I was like, "Nooo, you're totally pissed off, right?"

- (laugh) But I don't think getting angry would mean that she hated you.

I guess that's true...

- Then, what would you do if you and your friend both liked the same person?

It's never happened, but if it did, I would ask my friend if he liked her or not. Then if he said he did, I would give her up.

- Hehh

I put my friends first. No matter how much I love someone.

- Friendship first, huh.

Of course. Because I hate men or women who pick love over friendship.

- You're finally sounding more like a guy.

No, I'm always guyish (laugh)

- Next, do you have any secret techniques to capture a woman's heart?

That would probably start having to do with blood types again (laugh). But depending on what she said in a message or something, I can tell what she's trying to say. So as for messages, I would reply in an adult-like way. I wouldn't say anything that would make her mad.

- That's considerate. Then, what would you do to make the girl you like say "I love you"?

In the past I would call her and ask, "Do you like anyone?". But now I would try to make her jealous. I'd purposely look at other girls and be like, "Ah, that girl is really cute". Then she would go "Idiot! (jealous)". Like that?

- (laugh) That's pretty realistic.

But recently, I've been able to say it myself. More like Westerners do.

- So "I Love You"?

Though I wouldn't say it forcefully or anything. I would actually be pretty serious about it. Like, "Hey, sit down for a second......let's have some tea, too", pretty calmly. "Onegaishimasu" kind of thing.

- You'd do it properly, huh.

Of course. Then I would aim for silence. ........What the heck am I talking about?

- (laugh) I guess that you want to clearly express your feelings.

Compared to before, I think I've stopped bargaining so much when it comes to love.

- So it's better to confess honestly?

I think so. Well, depending on the circumstances.

- When you confess, or when you give presents, are you the type to set things up romantically? Like hiding a ring somewhere and aiming for suprise?

Ah, I do.

- You do, huh (laugh)

I'm pretty casual about it, though. For example, even if I was off that day I would say, "I have to work today~", and pretend like there was no way I had a present or anything prepared. Then, later on when we're getting ready for bed, I would take it out from beside the bed and be like, "Here", and throw it at her. Like, "I did it, you idiot".

- (laugh) It seems like there's some shyness too~ But wouldn't she still be happy after that, thinking "Ah, he did remember!"

Like, "Eh, what~?". ....If she said that it would piss me off.

- What, why (laugh) !

Whenever I give her a present, whether she cries or not decides whether I lose interest or not.

- Eh, so it's not good if she doesn't cry?

Even if she doesn't cry, I would just want her to be happy about it. Because there actually are people who would say, "Eh~ Something brand name would have been better~".

- That really is the worst.

Rather than something expensive, a letter, or...let's see...a hand-made scarf a guy made would have more feeling to it, wouldn't it. If they actually made one it would be pretty creepy, though.

- It's just an example, though

A girl I know apparently did just get a letter. Then she said, "I wanted something else". That's so unbelieveable....I wouldn't have expected anything, but isn't it nice just getting a letter?

- Or if they said, "I don't really like this brand~"
The day someone says that, I wouldn't be satisfied with just a body blow. Well, I would probably think that I just didn't have an eye for women.

- So presents are there when you want to express your feelings, then.

You want to see them happy, don't you. That's all it takes to make a guy happy. Yeah, it's love~

- Who are you trying to be (laugh)

It's wonderful~

- Then, the next question. Is there anything you think girls shouldn't say to a guy?

First, vulgar words are out of the question. That's the biggest thing. Also, if I was dating an older girl and she said, "Even though you're younger...", or if she was younger and said, "Even though you're older...". I wouldn't want her to say things that separate us like that.

- That's right. Going out means that you're equal, doesn't it.

Yes. Age doesn't matter at all. If she said that to me, I would respond like an adult.

- In what way?

A written complaint (laugh)

- So what about "Even though you're a guy"?

That's the same thing. I wouldn't like someone who holds that ladies first flag. For guys, even if we aren't told things like that, we'll still support the person we love. I wouldn't say things without delicacy, and I still want to protect her. But if a cockroach popped out I would call the manager.

- (laugh)

If it was just us and there was a cockroach, and it became a "What should we do? Run?" situation, then she said "Eh, but aren't you a guy?", I would close down. Like, "Well I am human". When people say "Even though you're a guy" or "Even though you're a girl", it just widens the gap between men and women.

- Another letter of complaint, huh

It means, "Let's meet in the courtroom".

- So what do you think is essential to loving someone?

I really think it's compassion. If you love that person you won't hurt them, and if you don't like being told something, you won't say it to them. I think it all depends on that. I would definitely say it to the person I like. "Don't say things to people that you don't like being told yourself". Also to not do something to someone that you wouldn't like being done to yourself. If there wasn't that kind of compassion, everything would be over. For example, if my girlfriend wanted to go out drinking with her guy friends and I said, "Okay, then I'll go with my girl friends", it wouldn't make sense if she said no.

- So basically you should think about the other person's feelings, huh. Your first priority should be to not make the person you love sad.

Right? You should think of that first....or that's what I've been taught.

- Regarding love, is it essential for your values and interests to be similar?

It's not essential. Because everyone is different. For instance, if we were watching the news and I asked her what she thought about an event so we could exchange opinions, and our values were different, I wouldn't care.

- Because it can be a lot more exciting if you have different values.

Yeah. I prefer them being different.

- But if you live together it might get difficult.

If she came over to my house, saw the interior and said, "I don't like this", then I would close down. I would think, "It's my house!". So if I lived with someone who had different interests, we would have different rooms. And we would talk about what to do with the living area.

- Then, if a girl you had no interest in said she liked you, what sign would you give her to show that you weren't interested?

I'd avoid the subject. Because you can tell by the atmosphere if you're about to be confessed to, right? If they become quiet for a second or something.

- I understand, yes.

At that time, when they start saying, "You know...", I would go, (holding stomach) "Owww!"

- (laugh) My stomach....kind of thing?

Yes, yes (laugh). That might really work.

- That could work!

And if I got a message saying, "I have something to tell you", I wouldn't reply. I would wait about two weeks.

- I guess there's nothing else to do, huh

Because I don't want to. Before hurting or not hurting them, I would hate myself for refusing when someone confessed to me.

- That's true, it is hard turning someone down.

Even though I feel like "Ah~ It's not like that!".

- But I'd feel bad for them if I said that.

I'd try my best not to say it. But if it turned into that situation, I would properly tell them, "I'm sorry".

- Yes. Then, next, do you feel that there is something beautiful in a love that never came to anything?

I do. There was one girl I liked. No matter how I think about it, I should have dated her. But at the time I just thought, "I want to be spoiled by a cute girl like this!". Those feelings got in the way, and before I knew it she was gone.

- "I was so stupid"

And then regret....it's still buried in the back of my mind as something beautiful.

- That's a nice story....When you're in love, everything seems to shine, doesn't it.

It does~ The way I talk even changes.

- So you get really cheerful

But that kind of thing actually wouldn't affect my lyrics. I still have more depressing kinds of lyrics.

- You write more about sad or painful things?

For me, those are good things. I'm glad I don't write about really happy things.

- Next, what do you think of continuing to think about one girl?

I think it's wonderful.

- Has that happened to you recently?

That's never happened to me.

- It hasn't, but...?

It hasn't, but....wait, what are trying to get me to say (laugh) Is this a leading question?

- Does it seem like an interrogation room?

Like, "I want to eat katsudon!"

- (laugh) Then?

But I'm jealous of people who wholeheartedly just think of one person. When I see a guy like that, I think the girl must be really great.

- So is it possible that you would become earnest in that way if you found a girl like that?

Of course it is. Because couldn't she then be the person I marry? Though I don't have any wishes to get married. But I do think that continuing to think of one person is wonderful. In order for that to happen, I would want to date a girl who I can talk about our future dreams with. To get married, live in this kind of house, have a dog, how many kids we want, with cool names....that kind of thing. If I could talk about those things with her I would start thinking, "I wonder if she's the one?".

- I see....

I want to be able to relax, after all.

- I think whether or not anyone is able to relax depends on you, though.

Hahaha! It does depend on me, but I can't control what's in my head.

- What was your result on the "Brain maker" that was popular a while ago?

It was "want".

- (laugh) !

- So with that, here is the last question. What would your perfect relationship be like?

We could talk about anything, be able to fight, and make up after we fought, and we would think the same things are cute. For instance if it was a kid or a dog.

- Being moved by the same things is pretty important, huh

I think so. It's fine even if our values are different, but I would want our feelings to be the same. If I meet that kind of person....I might be able to continue wholeheartedly thinking about them.

- So at the end you've been able to calm down beautifully. I had my doubts at first.

At first I was talking about how I was before, in the past.

- You should emphasize that.

The adult-like me during the last half is how I am now. I'm really inconsistent, but I can't help that.

- So you're still like a little kid, huh

I'm still on active duty

- "Active duty" (laugh). So if you weren't you would get married, then?

It's like, if you become an eternally immortal person (by Nagashima Shigeo), you can write your name in my family registry, kinda thing.

- What's with that superior attitude!

No, if my partner became someone like that, it would be like, "Let's play catch together" (proposal)

and because i have to throw in my own opinions again, ruki is such a bitch. omg. but i'm an O blood type, and what he was saying about them is kinda true...^^; srsly though, i love this guy but god he can be difficult XD i think it's cause a lot of people (like me >.>) do a lot of the things he says he does. i just hate that he says it so bluntly, lol. like avoiding people when you think they're gonna say they like you or getting turned off all of a sudden by little things. like sleeping positions, wtf.

Neo Genesis Vol.26 - Kai Interview

- First, out of all the instruments out there, why were you drawn to the drums?

I guess I was drawn to them because they stand out. I think they're the instrument that lets you express yourself with your whole body, and even when I was a kid I couldn't keep my eyes off them.

- At what age was that?

During middle school. My parents listened to jazz a lot, and had learned the jazz piano before. I was raised in that kind of environment, and they also took me to recitals and jazz club sort of places.

- You went to jazz performances in elementary school?

Yes. I didn't understand anything, though.

- Then you saw jazz drums live.

I thought they were amazing. Of course, there was also the saxophone, guitar, bass, and vocals, but the drums caught my eye first. Then I told my mom that I wanted to try playing the drums. She had always tried to get me to play an instrument and had taught me piano, so she said "Okay, give it a try". During middle school I was taught by her friend who was a drummer.

- You had played soccer too, right?

Yes. Honestly, if I had to pick, soccer was what I was really interested in, and the drums were a hobby. But that changed when I started a band.

- Since you played sports, you used your whole body a lot...so is that why you were interested in drums? Since you don't move a whole lot playing the bass or guitar.

(laugh) That's true. Basically, I thought the drums were the most showy and cool.

- Were you given a drumset?

No, no, not at all.

- Then how did you practice at home?

At that time I used magazines and things. I didn't have money to use a studio, so I would hit turned over frying pans and stuff (laugh). The only time I used a drumset was when I used my instructor's, but I knew how they were layed out, and knew where the high-hat and cymbals should go.

- So how did you set it up?

The actual drums were all magazines, for the pedals I would pretend that I had one on the floor and just make the movements, and for the high-hat, the ladder on my bunk bed was at the right height, so (laugh). That's why there are marks on it even now (laugh).

- The signs of your practicing are still there, huh.

Also, there was a part hanging off the back of a chair and was about to break, and I used it as a ride (cymbal). So basically I used and broke things all over the house (laugh). I also made holes in pillows and things like that.

- What was the first song you copied?

LUNA SEA's "JESUS". But even though we were copying it, I would always just not practice the parts of songs that I didn't like. So when it got to that part, I would arrange it how I liked it. And I would change that part and play it differently every time.

- So you didn't copy the whole thing exactly?

Not at all (laugh)

- Do you remember how you felt the first time you played with a band?

I remember. I was bad at playing a real drumset, but when we all just went at it playing together it was so much fun that I would want to go to the studio the next day as well.

- So at that time did you think you would want to always play the drums?

I don't think I did at that time. But after we had all gotten together and practiced, we started talking about doing it seriously. Then school began to get in the way. Because I wanted a job so I could buy a drumset, and I wanted to practice. I had no interest in going to school, so I was the only one who quit. In my second year of high school.

- You were the only one who quit?

Yes. When I realized I was the only one I was like, "Uwaa~!", but there was no turning back. And actually, we had begun to stop getting together as much. So I thought "Well, fine then" and decided I would look for new members. But I didn't think I was good enough yet, so for about a year I practiced as hard as I could.

- But you were the only one after you quit school, right?

(laugh) Basically school and practice switched places. Normal high school students woke up in the morning and went to classes, and I was practicing. I wanted to create distance between me and the people who had started practicing after graduation. I wanted to show that I had merit....I had a job, but I wanted to use the money to buy a drumset, so I practiced at home instead of at a studio. There are people who say that you can't practice if you don't go to a studio often, but you totally can.

- Using the method you talked about before?

No, I had enough to buy just a snare, and once I had that there were tons of ways I could practice at home. A drumset isn't everything.

- So you had a lot of different ways of doing it?

Yes, depending on my mood.

- And how did you practice?

For example, I would write out the sixteenth notes myself and label them with R and L, or right and left, and move around accents. Or I would move accents on a sixteenth note that I used a long stroke on, there were a lot of ways to do it.

- But I don't think you could do that if you weren't completely set on it. And you were alone.

I didn't really see it as being alone, though

- So you were completely into it, then?

I was totally absorbed in it. When I told my mom I was quitting school, she did try to stop me, because wouldn't any parent? We started arguing a little, and since I was a kid I was set on quitting. My parents eventually gave up and said "Whatever, then. You've already decided, right?" Because at that time I was so decisive, I didn't want them to see me just lazing around the house. I would have hated it if they said "You quit school and now you're just playing around".

- And that continued for a year?

Yes, it did

- Even though when you're 16 or 17 is when you want to play around the most.

That's true (laugh). But all of my friends were going to school.

- So were you really rebellious?

Yes, I was.

- Do you think that you're here today because of that one year of practicing?

I want to think that, but actually the people I've met might have had the most influence.

- Like meeting the members?

The members as well as others. I've just been very influenced by the people I've met so far.

- No matter how much talent or skill you have?

I think there are a lot of people like that as well, though. I think if you look you could find middle school students who are better than me. But there's also just luck, and the fact that sometimes you can't get by just with your own accomplishments. That's why I can't say something like I'm where I am now thanks to that time of practicing.

- So if the 17 year-old Kai-kun saw the present Kai-kun, what would he say?

"Wow, awesome" (laugh)

- Like, "My dream was realized"?

Well, I was a kid at that time, so I had tons of confidence. If I think about it now, I had strangely huge confidence that I would go really far.

- I guess there are a lot of people who had plenty of groundless confidence that they would become pros.

That's true. It is strange. So I think if the 17 year-old me saw the present me, he would be like, "Yeah, I knew it". (laugh)

- But if it wasn't like that, you probably wouldn't have been able to keep practicing so hard. I really think that people who play the drums are amazing. You have to pay attention to so many different things at once. I don't even understand how you would work with just the cymbals.

(laugh) I don't really understand the feeling of it being amazing. Because when I first saw a drumset, I knew I could do it. Guitars have so many chords, and you have to move your fingers a lot. But all you have to do is hit the drums and they make sounds (laugh). Of course, once I started doing it I realized how hard it can be.

- Hard in what way?

I realized that drums are an honest instrument. The sounds you make when you play with confidence are completely different from the sounds you make when you're nervous. It's easily given away.

- It's an instrument that totally gives away your feelings?

I think so.

- So is it similar to singing?

Yes, singing also completely gives you away. But whether that's good or bad, it is a feature of acoustic instruments. Isn't that their selling point, though? Your voice is also an unprocessed instrument, so there's no meaning to it if you don't express that. For drums too, if you don't do that then all you're doing is hitting them. It's boring you know, just hitting them.

- I see.

So there is that, but even now, that simple "If you hit it, it'll make sounds" way of thinking hasn't changed.

- And the fun hasn't changed, either?

No, it hasn't. If I start disliking it, I would just quit right? Even now it's fun whether I'm playing live or recording.

- Then if you were to tell people who have just started playing instruments the good point of drums, what would it be? It's a part with a lot of responsibility, though.

Yeah, but I don't think that's the way to think about it. If you start playing them feeling like that, you'll just lose to the pressure.

- Though even if you forget the lyrics to a song, the music can still continue. But if you make a mistake while drumming, doesn't it all stop?

If they thought like that, everyone would get too nervous and give up. If I was teaching someone that didn't know anything about them to play the drums, first I would teach them how fun it is. The instructor who taught me did the same. I sat at the drumset and had no idea what I would have to do, but he just said, "Today you can just hit it however you want." He sat to the side and read a book (laugh). So without understanding anything, I started hitting the toms and realized, "Ah, so this makes this kind of sound." I did my best for a while, then it was like, "Okay, today's lesson is over".

- So there wasn't any kind of objective?

Not at all at first. At the time I didn't know anything about what 8th beats or anything were, and I just thought, "Drums are so easy~" and started from there. I was talking about luck before, and if I go back to that, wouldn't it start from just one meeting? If I wasn't saved by that teacher, I would be living a completely different life now. No matter how much I say I love drums, if I was just like "I can't do that!", I might have given up halfway through.

- It was good that you met then. Also, this might be a simple question, but are the drums an instrument that changes your personality after you learn them? Did you change because of the drums?

Not really. Actually, I think my personality is expressed through the drums.

- Aren't there a lot of drummers who are the moodmakers, or who are able to make things exciting? There are also a lot of very different personalities. So that's why I thought it might be because of the instrument?

I don't think that has anything to do with it, though.

- There are also plenty of people who are teased a lot.

I wonder why that is (laugh)? I do think there are a lot of people like that, though. But for me it was who I met, so I think it's other people who can change your personality.

- I see. This is an abstract question, but what are the drums to you? Something that expresses your personality?

They're like another part of my body....people rely on their eyes, talk with their mouths, and use gestures to communicate, right? It's like that. There are things that you can only express with your body, things that you can't convey unless you talk, and things that are given away with your eyes. Just like that, I think there are things that I can only express with the drums. For example, when people say, "My life changed after I started listening to Gazette", it means that they listened to our music and felt something. I often get letters saying, "I love Kai-kun's drumming", which means that that person felt something from my drumming. If they didn't, the word "love" wouldn't come into it. I think it's because they got something out of a phrase. But that's something that couldn't be felt if it wasn't for the drums. It couldn't be communicated by talking.

- Yes, yes.

What I think is interesting is there are a lot of people in the world who don't hear the drums when they listen to a song, but for me, in the past I didn't listen to the song. One day someone said to me, "This song's lyrics are really great, huh", and at that time I thought, "Wow, people read the lyrics!?" (laugh).

- (laugh) Like, "They think about what they mean!?". That they percieved the singing like you did the instruments?

I didn't know in the past that people would listen to CDs and follow the lyrics. It was the music that I concentrated on, so in high school when I copied songs, I could remember the drum phrases but not the melody.

- You really had a drummer's mind, then.

Because of that, when someone told me "These lyrics are touching", I would think, "For me this drum phrase is touching" (laugh).

- Do you feel that way even now?

I think I do, yes.

- Then, after your long tour you must have taken in a lot of things, but right now what kind of time is your style as a drummer facing?

I wonder? But the basic things haven't changed. I want to have fun with it. So I guess the answer is somewhere above that.

- When I went to Yoyogi and saw you there you were shining, but I also noticed that you were very stoic, and that your expression and your drumming went together perfectly.

I get embarrassed when I'm told that, but (laugh) If I can make a good expression....well, it's hard to explain when it comes to my playing style. My goal would be for people to say, "Even if you look all over the world you won't find another drummer like this!", and I would want to think that myself, but I think that's pretty hard to do. Being able to say, "This is my playing style" is something you're only able to say when you have the confidence that you definitely have your own unique style, so I can't say it just yet. Because I still want to be able to grow.

- So you're in the middle of working towards your goal?

Though it might be impossible even if I work my whole life.

- But you're still aiming towards it?

That is what I'm aiming for. Though right now if it's something I've achieved, I am able to say that I'm Gazette's drummer.

- But aren't you in a position where Gazette having any drummer other than Kai-kun is unthinkable?

You can say that. But as far as my playing goes, you couldn't say "Gazette's drummer is the only one in the world with that playing style". Well, I don't think about it that deeply. I just think it would be nice if it turned out that way.

- So it's an instrument that's just as deep as you make it?

Yes, it's difficult. But I love it because I never start disliking it.

- Loving it and having fun are simple but essential, aren't they. Thinking about it simply, I think it's because that part doesn't change that you are able to overcome obstacles and keep going.

That's true.

- Then, what have you been doing lately?

Band-related?

- Both with the band and in private.

I haven't been doing anything in private (laugh). Maybe when I'm sleeping?

- Have you had a little break after Yoyogi?

Kind of, but it's a break called song-making (laugh)

- But even when you're doing all that, doesn't just playing the drums make it fun?

That is true. Since it's an instrument that lets out your honest feelings....for example, the atmosphere before a live when the members are kind of arguing with each other and the times when thing are going really well and we're all excited together are completely different. I don't think this only affects my drumming, but....for me, I even hate it when I see a staff member get angry before a live. If it's possible, I don't want to see that. I want everything to go well that day, so it's a pretty extravagant way of thinking. There are fans who tell me, "I think it would be better to do it this way", and because I want it to go well too, I'll take that in. Like, "When you play a ballad like that it hurts my ears" kinda thing.

- Heehh. That's pretty severe.

At first I would think "What the heck?", but whenever they actually write the name of the song they're talking about, it's always at the back of my mind when I'm playing it during a live. I've also unconciously changed it....But because there are always a lot of opinions, at the end if I have to choose what to believe, all I have to do is believe in us. And I think we have fans who will follow us like that.

- Then lastly, since you're in the middle of making new songs, can you give us an idea of what kind of songs we can expect?

As to what kind of songs they'll be, there are a lot of different feelings to them. But what I can tell you without hesitation is to look forward to them! They're cool!

Fool's Mate August 2008 - Reita Personal Interview

- First, please tell us when and why you started playing the bass.
I started the bass in my third year of middle school. At first I had played guitar in my second year. And it was acoustic (laugh). I started because I thought it would be cool if I knew how to play guitar. There wasn't anyone I knew who did, so I bought one as soon as I could. But after that, I saw LUNA SEA on TV. It really affected me, and I thought "I have to join a band, this isn't the time to be buying an acoustic guitar!" (laugh) So then I bought an electric guitar.

- But you switched to the bass soon after, right?
Yes. I started playing bass after I got frustrated with the guitar (laugh). Since I didn't know anyone who played guitar, so I couldn't improve. Then everyone started buying guitars, including Uruha. Then Uruha said he was going to perform at the arts festival, and wanted to borrow my amplifier. At the time I lent it to him, the electric guitar had already become boring. I couldn't do more than make that raw "pekepeke" noise (laugh). I wasn't getting better, and it was boring...so I stopped. But I wanted to be in a band. At that time, even when I listened to CDs and stuff I couldn't pick out the sound of the bass, so I didn't know which part I wanted to play. Then I thought, "I can do this even if I don't practice!" and decided on bass (laugh). My reason for starting to play the bass is pretty impure (laugh).

- No, I think it's fine (laugh). Did you start a band right after that?
At first it was me, Uruha, and one other friend who played guitar. We would play a CD, turn our amps up really loud, and record onto a casette tape (laugh). I also had a friend who was pretty good at singing, so after we started using him as a vocalist we did the same thing, playing CDs and recording onto casette tapes...it was fun anyway, and we did that until high school (laugh). At that time we also found a drummer, and by our first year of high school we were able to play at a live house. That band broke up before we graduated, but after that Uruha and I would still always play together. There was also a time when we didn't have a drummer, so we played live with a rhythm machine. Just recently, I went over to my friend's house and he had a DVD from that time. We watched it, but it was pretty painful (laugh). First off, no one was there (laugh). There weren't any more than 5 people, and even they were talking and stuff (laugh). Even so, the point was that we were performing as best we could. So much that it created my view of the world even more than recently (laugh). At that time, I met Ruki...he was a drummer then, but we decided to be in a band together. When that band had a live, about 80 people would show up on a good day. But a lot happened, and we broke up. And for the next band Ruki had gotten good at singing, so he became the vocalist, and we found a new drummer. And that drummer brought Aoi with him. That was at the beginning of 2002.

- The birth of Gazette, huh. What kind of band were you at the time?
Pretty different from now, we kept with a very Japanese image. Everyone loved to use kanji for everything and things like that. But as we kept doing lives, we wanted a different, more manly kind of mood...so we started thinking that, and gradually changed. Then about a year later our drummer said he was quitting. But Ruki had made friends with Kai-kun by that point, so once he joined it became the 5 members we have now.

- At that time, what kind part did you think a bassist had?
I thought they should stand out (laugh). I thought I should move around a lot when I played my phrase. I wanted people to think, "Wow, this bassist moves a lot"...like that. Nothing about wanting to support the band (laugh). I wanted people to say, "He's like a guitarist, huh". But at that time, everyone was like that. No one thought that someone should be more in the background for the sake of the band (laugh). It was just like, "Go for it all at once!" (laugh).

- There's a lot of bands who were like that at first (laugh). In 2003 Gazette began to stand out more, so what are your thoughts on that time?
We had joined a label and started appearing in magazines, while having lives at the same time, so more people found out about us. In the spring of 2003, we also had a coupling tour. On the first day, March 9th at Takadanobaba Area, there were about 90 people, but on the May 6th final (Shibuya O-West), about 280 people came. Also, on the day of the final we talked about a oneman performance on January 16th, 2004 at Shibuya AX. Our manager at the time said, "At the rate people are coming, by January you'll have 1,800 people at Shibuya AX." I got goosebumps when I heard that, but I didn't feel like it was real. I thought, "Yeah, that probably won't happen." (laugh). At that point I thought 280 people would be a miracle (laugh).

- Even if it's not a miracle, 1,800 people is almost six times that amount, after all.
Yeah. After we started talking about that, we didn't have any oneman lives. We would have two-band lives or perform at events. We began to travel the region a little more. Then, during the summer we decided to really do Shibuya AX. We actually didn't think it would be filled up or anything, but when I peeked out from behind the curtain it was totally full. I think I was more nervous that day than I've ever been in my life. My legs were shaking and everything. But I did understand the feeling of playing at a larger area, and how good it feels (laugh). I thought that maybe we'll try to change the world a little. But at that time there was a feeling that we had been brought there, not that we had gotten there ourselves. Because of that a kind of fire had been lit in the band, but in the end it worked out well. After that, starting from April 2004 we had our first oneman tour, and we were able to create more sound. It was also at that time when I started realizing what a bassist should be like. The first place on the tour was Fukuoka, but our manager at the time had gotten mad at us. After the live he was like, "Isn't something different?". I don't remember what he told the other members, but he told me "You're too far forward!". At first I was like, "What?", but after a while I got it. I had never been told that before, so I didn't know. After that I decided to stand back a little. It was at that time when I started thinking about where I should stand.

- I guess you had recieved some good advice at a good time. If there was one song at that time that became a turning point for you, what would it be?
Probably [DIS]. When we started aiming for a better mood, that was the first song we brought out. I think it was October of 2003, but that was when more and more people started raising their fists and things like that. Perfoming that song live also began to influence our sound afterwards. So because of that I think it was a turning point. We also gradually stopped messing around so much. We did that a lot at first. I can't belive it now, but in the middle of our oneman live there was a small break, and during that we'd play a comment video we had taken beforehand. And it was filled with us just messing around, doing impressions and stuff. We always played those during the break (laugh). We really did dumb stuff like that then. But eventually our feelings of "It's fine as long as it's fun" changed to "It should be cool". The visual part also changed, and we started to use harder things like studs and things like that.

- I think that the album NIL released in 2006 was when you changed the most.
That's true. Since then we've used more B tuning. But the reason was way before that. We joined PS Company and released consecutive CDs for about three months after May 2003. The day before we started recording for "Akuyuukai", which was released in June, we all gathered at Uruha's house. The conversation turned to, "Why don't we bring all of our strings down a note?", or "For tomorrow's recording, should we do this?" kinda thing...all of a sudden (laugh). Things started changing after that. I think the increase in our tuning variations created the present Gazette.

- Your sound became heavier, the visual style became more manly, but I think the fact that you left a luxurious feeling became charactaristic of the GazettE.
Yeah, I guess because we're not too guyish. Cool has a lot of different meanings, so we want to show a lot of different forms of cool. Because we've always done whatever we wanted to at the time. We've never said things like, "This song doesn't sound like Gazette", we just do whatever we think sounds good. That also expanded after we started using different tuning. I think in the future we'll continue to show a lot of different faces as well. How should I say it...there are rails that our senpais put up, right? If there are kouhais that go above those, I think there are also kouhais that digress from them and put up a different rail. For us, even if we digress we don't want to go in a completely different direction, but we want to continue the rail that our senpais put up...a really thick rail.

- I'm looking forward to it. After getting more and more popular, Gazette then performed at Budokan on May 7th, 2006.
That's right. When we started talking about Budokan I thought, "It's finally here, huh".

- When you heard about Budokan, did you think that as a band and as a bassist, now would be a good time?
Well, we discussed it a lot. While on the ferry during our tour (laugh). Plus the water was really rough, so I got seasick too (laugh). But we thought that if we were going to do it, we would have to decide now. Then we got the staff together and talked about it. About 4,500 people had come to the International Forum, but there were people who pointed out that 10,000 people was a lot different than one or two thousand. But we were able to do Shibuya AX, which we didn't think was possible, as well as Yaon and Shibuya 2 Days. I thought, "We should go for it." Plus I was getting really seasick and I felt like throwing up (laugh). Anyway, I just wanted to lay down and go to sleep, so I was just like "Let's do it!" (laugh). And then it was decided (laugh).

- So that rough ocean also helped push the GazettE forward (laugh). How was it when you were onstage at Budokan?
Before Budokan we had been on a long tour of 34 places, and a lot had happened on it. There was something regarding the encores that we wanted to show, and there were about 2 times when we didn't do one. It's becoming as if encores are a given thing, isn't it. So there were a few times when we thought, "What is this? It doesn't sound like an encore." For us, we just want to get things energized during the main part. Then afterwards, go even higher with the encore...we felt that strongly. In order for that to be understood, we decided not to do one. I'm pretty sure it was at Kumamoto. Of course, I know there were some people who were seriously calling for an encore. But we think that if it doesn't become one big wave, it doesn't feel like our live. So as much as it hurt, we didn't do it. And the surveys that we read afterwards were amazing. Like, "Don't be so full of it, bastards", "Who do you think you are?", or "Don't treat us like that!" kinda thing. But I still think not doing an encore was the right choice. It was different after that, though. Since it was that kind of tour, Budokan was really important. For the fans too, it wasn't all fun. Because of what we did, there was sadness and anger as well. So it was a final at the end of those experiences. I think it really made an impression on everyone.

- At the end all the members started crying, didn't they.
We did. It was really suprising. Going along with the end of the live, the impact of it just spilled out, and none of us knew that kind of thing would happen. I was crying at that point. I just saw the faces of the staff members and started crying in a second. Because I had talked. In a lot of ways, Budokan made the greatest impression on me. I was the most nervous at Shibuya AX, and Budokan made the biggest impression. For Budokan I felt that we had made it there ourselves. We weren't taken there, we had done it. So I wanted to become closer to the fans, and to understand each other better. Those feelings became even stronger.

- It's because of that attitude that I think Gazette has great fans. Then in 2007, it progressed into a monster band. Can you tell us what Gazette means to you?
Well...99% of me is Gazette. If it wasn't, I think even my personality would be different. I guess if there was no Gazette, the present me wouldn't exist either. I really love it...it's the band I want to continue with my whole life. It's my work, fun, and interests. All of me is in it. So for me, Gazette is a way of life. I think it's the most blessed band in the world. Our members, fans, and staff all make me think that. Basically, there aren't any bad people around us, only really great ones. I think we've grown up in that amazing kind of environment. Because of that, we need people to think "I'm definitely gonna follow these guys!". We have to become something that can pull along the fans and staff....is what I think. So I want the fans and staff to understand us even better.

- I think you have those feelings of wanting the fans and staff to understand you better because everyone is at an equal position. Because you aren't looking down on anyone, you feel a deep affection for the fans and staff.
That's true. But if it was out of 100, I would want them to understand about 50 (laugh). I don't want all 100 to be understood. 50 is plenty. The remaining 50 doesn't need to be known, and actually I think it's better that it's not (laugh). From the fans' point of view, there are a lot of people who would want to know everything. Everything about what Gazette does and what we think. But I don't think that's right. Saying everything you think and telling your lover every single day "I love you" is something Westerners do (laugh). Japanese people don't talk about things like that in the same way. And things are hard to convey with words. You can't feel with words, so it's fine. I just don't want to be misunderstood. Whenever I am, I want to say "That's not what I meant!", but I'm not good at putting things to words, and I can't say it well. So our real intent is in our recent activities, our music, lives, and what we talk about in magazines. Out of that, it'd be great if we could have half of us understood....is what I think.

- I think that's fine. So six years after forming the band, what is your image now of the perfect bassist?
Now, I think the bass is an all-purpose instrument. It creates a rhythm, but can also play the melody. A bassist can have a frontman position or be more towards the back. I think it's the most versatile position. If it was soccer, it would be the libero [sweeper]. They can do defense, offense, and midfield...kinda thing. When I think about it like that, I found out on this recent tour that there are even more things I can do.

- So completely different than at first when it was "How much you stand out".
That's true. Though I think it's fine if you stand out from the back. So there's not much point in being in front. I want to be able to say, "Even if I'm standing in the back, I'm in front!". I don't want to feel an actual distance. That's also why I leave the stage first after a live. I'm leaving my feelings behind. If I didn't, I would want to stay there forever. If I don't leave right after the song ends, who knows how many days I'll spend there...that's the extreme (laugh).

- You're an "unspoken aesthetics" kind of person, aren't you. You want to be understood and not misunderstood, but you don't want to explain everything from 1 to 100. The "Just understand from my actions" type, huh.
Yes. If I try to explain it, it won't end...or rather, depending on what I say there would be more people who would misunderstand, and it would keep looping like that. So in the end, what I wanted to say became even harder to understand (laugh). I know there are people who think, "Just say it", but I'll only say what's necessary.

- I see. You have had a lot of dreams come true with Gazette, but what is your dream now?
My dream....if I start explaining it won't end, but I guess if it's a dream for the near future, my goal is Tokyo Dome. That's as far as performance areas go, anyway. For that I want to gain even more friends. Rather than selling 100,000 CDs and having 10,000 people come to a live, I would want to sell 50,000 CDs and have those 50,000 people come. I want to become that kind of band. So there's no need for Gazette to be a band that everyone knows about. Whenever I peek out from behind the curtain, to see so many comrades....I want to be like that.
